I think this new advanced filter is great! No more black flecks and the water tastes fresh and crisp. If you have trouble putting it in the pitcher you should try turning it to be sure all grooves align .It is great not to have to presoak and a quick 15 sec and you are on your way to great tasting water. A big plus for you and a big plus for the environment.

I have been using these standard filters for years then i have recently changed to long last filters( which can have really slow stream filtering). For people who are Okay with changing filters every two months, standard filters might be a good choice but keep in mind you have to change every 2 months hence 6 times a year. These days i just use long last filter hence only change filters twice a year.

I live in the city and hate city tap water, but with the Brita pitcher, water tastes even better than it being bottled. I am so glad I bought the Brita pitcher and never want to go back to bottled water.
