While it's recommended to repalce them every 1-2 months, I have used the same filter up to 4+ months. I filter water for my electric kettle, drinking water, my cat's water, sometime's when cooking.

I've had a Brita pitcher for city water and it definitely tastes very good.

I am finding LOTS of charcoal and grey water still
