I use it mostly for drinking water and for making coffee, and he uses it to make his "flavored" water drinks (powders). It's always cold and clean-tasting, if you know what I mean, and we love the reminder button on top of our pitcher. I also found out that these filters are recylable (special programs online).

The filter is easy to, just rinse it once out of the package and put it right into the dispenser. I typically run the water for 3 cycles to get rid of any carbon dust and use that water for my plants. After that you are all set for fresh, clean, drinking water.

When I tried drinking water that came directly from the faucet I detected a scent of sulfur and the water tasted like dirt.. After running it through the filter, the water tasted crisp and fresh and the scent of sulfer was gone. I am very pleased with the Brita system!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the Brita filters because they are easy to use, do not get clogged like the other brand, and no more carbon back washing into the filter area. The only thing I wish for is filtering of more materials like their in line tap filters. Things like lead aren't filtered with these basic filters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This filter use to be so difficult to remove from the pitcher, that when you pulled it up, if it didnt move, ouch! You'd end up hurting yourself. BUT NOW, soo much better with the longer lipped neck, it's a breeze to change.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The simplicity of the Brita design amazes me each day I fill up the pitcher; the perfect fit and full-proof alignment allows one to replace the filter in pitch dark. Not a feature to be dismissed. Other brands on the market that emulate the shape don't have the details right and this is one reason I remain brand loyal to Brita. I do wish they'd produce a range of glass, preferably hand blown glass pitchers to match my Chemix coffee carafe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live by myself in an apartment without a water filtration system and this filter works great! the only thing is that it takes a while for the new cartridge to produce clear water, not black/ brown because of the filter minerals.

I'm a busy wife and mother to a 3 year old and I don't have a lot of time to spare, so when it's time to replace my filter all I have to do is soak the filter for a few minutes and then drop it into the top of my pitcher - done! It doesn't get much better than that and I ACTUALLY enjoy drinking my FILTERED tap water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brita filters are so affordable and easy to change which is great for busy people on a budget. My only issue with it is that sometimes the filter is fine other times like my last purchase the filter distorted the taste of my water.
