Get Honey Baked instead

We’ve purchased this ham numerous holidays a year, and this ham on Thanksgiving was a bust! No one came back for me, or asked for left overs of it. It’s different, I would agree with another comment, seems like more generic and blah . Not the normal yummy ham we’ve gotten in the past.

Packed in brown sugar solution

Very disappointing. It is not a flavor smoked ham with a glaze packet like we have normally purchased in the past. It is a ham packed in a brown sugar solution with a glaze packet. I guess this is what they mean by double glaze. It also allows them to add to the weight at little cost. The flavor of the smoked ham itself is totally lost. Also, 2 inches cut out of roughly 8 is not a spiral cut. You still have to slice the thing considerably, and all the "spiral" does is make a jagged mess.

Very Flavorful and No Bones

I was very skeptical of a no-bone spiral cut ham. Thought it wouldn't be real meat. Very Flavorful. A real Ham! I was very surprised at the quality and taste. I'll keep it around as long as Sam's Club keeps providing it. Great leftovers by itself or as sandwiches.

Not great.

The taste was okay, but it has a cinnamon flavor, even without the glaze. I liked the fact that it is completely sliced with no waste, but to achieve this, it's overly processed and not like a real spiral ham in taste or texture. Definitely going back to a bone-in next time.

Disgusting gelatinous glob of Spam

This is not a ham in the true sense. As others have said, it is a big gooey horrible chunk of “Spam”. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! We only got as far as tasting it when after we cooked it in the oven and frankly, we have thrown the ENTIRE thing away. All 7 pounds. We’ll be seeking a refund from Sam’s after Black Friday. Stay as far away from this garbage as possible. If Sam’s refuses to refund our money for this disgusting gelatinous glob of Spam we will take our business elsewhere. I’m surprised they even sell this, but then again, there are those culinary critics that thought this was “the hit of the party”. Silly me.

Good price but very bland taste

I usually buy a honeybaked ham for our family Christmas meal. This year, the year the honeybaked ham would have costs over $71. So I decided to try this Sams ham instead. I read multiple reviews before purchasing this ham. I will say that the ham was lean. There is no fat on it. It comes with a glaze that you can sprinkle on and heat in the oven using the broiler. The glaze tastes very good. However, the ham flavor is very bland. It doesn’t taste very good. It’s not terrible, but it’s nowhere near the quality of a honeybaked ham. It just lacks the flavor that you would normally get in a good ham. The preparation for the ham was easy. All I did was take it out of the aluminum foil, packaging and place it in a roasting pan under the broiler for eight minutes. It came out nice. The cost of the hand was very good. But I do wish I would have gotten the honeybaked ham instead because the flavor of the Sams ham is just not that great. I would not recommend this ham to a family or friend

Delicious Sweet Ham

Delicious ham! I've enjoyed this ham on several occasions and the spiral slicing seems to be hit or miss. Cooking (heating) instructions are WAY off. It needs to be warmed at a higher temperature for a longer period of time than stated. Just be careful not to dry out the ham.

What did we expect for $23.00

This is not real ham. It's on the level of like buying a can of Spam. This ham is not solid, does not have a bone. It is processed. I will have to say my Australian Shepherd likes it though. That's the reason I gave it two stars instead, one. Trust me, she will only receive a couple bites of it.

Not what they said it was

After having Honey Baked bone-in, spiral sliced Ham for years, we decided to give this a try. I knew it was boneless, but I expected better quality than this. It said it was spiral sliced and it appeared to be…until you went to cut it. It was only cut to about 2” down, leaving a lot of work to be done. It looked like ham (I don’t usually get boneless) but was apparently kinda “formed”. It also had a strange taste, almost like it was doused in chemicals. I’m pretty picky with my food, and I was extremely disappointed with this ham. (My adult son ate lots of it for days afterwards, but he’ll eat almost anything.) I’m not sure if they carry a bone-in ham, but if they do, I might try that when I don’t have people coming for Thanksgiving dinner! I’m most likely going to skip Sam’s for ham next time and get a Publix bone-in spiral sliced ham. It’s more expensive than Sam’s, but I know the quality has been good in the past. The lack of slicing of the Sam’s ham was a pain in the butt, but it was mostly the taste that put me off. We also got a hickory smoked turkey, and that was wonderful!!

Better than the store bought ham!

This ham was so delicious and I am happy I saved the money from ordering my ham this year. There was hardly any fat on this ham. I warmed it in a bag with honey and pineapple juice for an hour then took it out of the bag and dry rubbed the ham with brown sugar and spices and baked it for another 20 minutes. I took the drippings from the bag, added honey and made a glaze on the stoves that I poured over the ham and baked it for another 20 minutes. It was delicious.
