I have bought Scotch shipping tape for years. However, the latest roll I purchased and tried to use today is just terrible. It is SO sticky, it sticks hard to itself. I cannot get a full width piece to even get it started to use on the dispenser. It breaks off in little pieces and is next to impossible to pry off the roll. I'm so annoyed with the this roll.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The heavy duty lived up to its name. Had to tape up multiple boxes and was was able to easily secure with no bumps or seem lifting. Other products get bumpy as they are going on or the seems lift which makes you question the hold. Not this product, boxes got knocked around the the tape held up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape and used this product to seal a package to mail. I had difficulty getting the tape started. There is a "tab" that appears to be the starting point, but in fact the tape ran over and past this point, so I struggled to find the beginning of the roll. Also, there is a piece of cardboard that says "remove here" that protects the cutting blade edge which is a great safety feature. However once I removed the cardboard where indicated, the cutting edge was still covered up with part of the attached cardboard, thus making cutting the tape difficult. I tried to remove the residual cardboard tab, but it is well secured, so I was not successful. I don't know if that little tab that remains is supposed to be left on for protection of the blade, or removed, but if left on, the cutting edge is blocked, and if it is to be removed, I cannot figure out how to do so without cutting myself on the cutting edge! However the tape itself is wonderful! It dispensed very easily and smoothly. I cannot tear it, which assures secure sealing. It has it's own dispenser, which would be very handy except for the above issues. It is clear tape, so you can see where you are putting it which is obviously important when sealing a seam or package edges. I love the tape and would recommend it for anyone's packaging needs.

Hooray to Scotch for inventing such an excellent product.

I like that it is clear so I can use it to protect the address from running on packages I send out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best tape I have ever used for packaging items to mail. I have used it on boxes going by UPS, Fed-X, and Postal. I have never had any damage to anything I have shipped. I also use the tape for storage boxes and it lasts so long and doesn't dry out like some tape. I have even used it to close plastic bags sent to me from catalog companies when I return items. Nothing has ever gotten lost and items have always arrived in excellent condition. Just can't get better packaging tape than SCOTT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this brand for the last two years and have found it consistently excellent for all adhesive applications, including packaging, mailing, household general use, outdoor use, gardening applications, industrial applications and also as a hold-fast tape for odds and ends around my home. I personally use it often while scrap booking too and strongly recommend it to all quality conscious people. I feel its use once will more than satisfy the user and bond him/her as a lifelong user.

i had bought this tape before i read the reviews. the tape is great, i realy like the fact that after you tear off what you need the little pads on eithor side of the despenser lets the tape rest on it so they don't stick back on the roll and you don't waste tape by having to fold a piece over the end. it is a little bit of a hassle to figure out just how to store it but i have a small basket that i put it in along with my other tape.

I have used it on several different boxes, one which had a heavy item inside and was shipping via a shipping company. I was very happy with how the tape went onto the package and how heavy the tape felt compared to my normal packaging tape. It was much more sturdy and adhered much better. The dispenser is very easy to use and it allows for a smooth cut when using the tape. Very happy and pleased with this heavy duty tape.
