I have been a loyal Hellmann’s customer for more than 50 years. I started noticing that it is not as thick as it use to be. Maybe it’s just for the squeeze bottle? I don’t know, but I do not like the thin texture. It still tastes fine, but makes for a runny potato salad.

The flavor profile is very well balanced, as it is neither sweet nor sour, and is not too oily. It is rich and fluffy, and adds just the right amount of subtle taste and texture. It is also very diverse in that it works perfectly not only in sandwiches, but also add a nice creaminess in dips. Of course the animal rights and environmentalist in me feels good that only cage free eggs are used and that the jar is made from recycled plastic.

I bought a jar of Hellmann's mayo a couple weeks ago. I haven't used this brand in quite a while, although it's my favorite, because it's more expensive than the store brand. But I thought I'd go ahead and get the Hellmann's this time. What a disappointment! They changed the formula. The consistency was more like a whipped mayo, being lighter and less dense. It didn't taste as rich as the mayo I remembered. When I looked at the label on the jar, I noticed that it contained 30 ounces. As I recall, a jar used to contain 32 ounces. Now that I've discovered that it's no longer superior to the store brand, I won't feel as if I'm missing anything when I go back to using the store brand.

I love that my hands aren't dirty sticking the knife in the old jar and making a mess. I am almost finished with this bottle and can't wait to buy another!

I have been buying Hellmann's for more years than I am willing to reveal. Additionally, I grew up with it - my mom was also a Hellmann's lover. The potato salad that I make is straight from the back of the jar and my family would be outraged if a 'pretender' showed up on the table. That said, I am concerned about the integrity of the product and its enduring reputation. The last two jars I purchased did not deliver on consistency - decidedly different. Not as thick and not as creamy. I would not give an unqualified recommendation of the 'new Hellmann's' to a friend. Please go back to the original recipe - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!".

I have used Hellman’s Mayo for over 15 yrs! Like I said it’s all in the taste,The lemon just makes all my salads taste that much better,the creamy that stays on a sandwich,does not go oiled or dry,from start to the last bite. I have tried the olive oil flavor it is ok, want to try some of the new flavors that are not in this area like the spicy mustard,until then I am a original flavor that is a legend in my kitchen,a major staple that we will make a special trip to Gro store to get! I buy in bulk because I can’t find it since the pandemic! Here’s to keeping it real Hellman’s pls don’t change the original!

I've read the reviews, the news reports, the blogs, and Unilever's responses. I can't speak to what's happened at the source, but I'm absolutely convinced of what I've seen as an end-user. I bought a jar around Thanksgiving and when I opened it, it just looked....wrong. It didn't have that signature, dimply texture you could see on the top of the mayo in a new jar. And when I scooped it, it was clearly thinner. It wasn't spoiled so I used it and assumed maybe it was an older jar or something. The next jar I bought had the same problem. I'm willing to believe the public information people when they say the "recipe" hasn't changed. But something, somewhere, has. And any company that values it's product and it's customer base, should be looking into what that "something" is. Meanwhile, I'm going to have to look into who else might make a mayo closer to what Hellmann's used to be.

I winter in Arizona and had to search very hard to find Helmanns at a Family Dollar. Everyone else from Wisconsin has realized that so it's a race to get some when the shipment comes in! The western product Best is good but not what I'm used to for my salad dressings which I've made for 40 years in Wisconsin. The last jar I bought did not hold up the airy, thick texture I love. I hope it was a one-time glitch and not that they're changing the formula. There are plenty of versions of Helmann's. Please leave the original as is.

Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise is the mayo I have used all my life. I can't exactly compare it to anything else. Therefore, its needless to say I highly enjoy it. I mix it with ketchup for fries, always spread it on sandwiches and burgers, salad...anything you name it!
