[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These refried beans are delicious! I have tried a lot of different brands of refried beans and these are one of the best. Not too runny, not too thick and have really good flavor. I eat them on tacos, burritos, and nachos but honestly they are good all by themself with just a little cheese on them.

I grew up eating retried beans in TX and quickly discovered as a young adult that buying Old El Paso was worth it - every time. Other brands have never compared. Tonight, I opened a 31 oz can of the traditional retried beans I’ve purchase for 20 yrs+…. I usually drain them, and then place them in a bowl (generally still in the can shape, beginning to settle) and add a few pats of butter. Tonight, I couldn’t drain them without “the beans” pouring out of the can. Tried my best to eliminate liquid, added a bit of butter. After heating, mixing and allowing to cool - they are practically liquid! What in the world? I’ve bought these so many times over the last 2 yrs and have never experienced this…. Maybe in 2021, I’m just now getting to the cans of 2019 revamp??? That’s just crazy. Why in the world are they so watery? The taste is week. This has zero to do with customer input… no one would ask for less taste and more water… these won’t even “set” to build my dinner items. Ruined a meal we’ve relied on for years and years.

Just opened a can of beans that was very watery. They gave a scent of chemicals and had a bad taste of chemicals that linger as well. Will not be buying this brand again. Concerned on what is giving this chemical awful taste. Hopefully nothing harmful!.

Eating dinner last night and all of us thought something was right. We realized the beans were the "new recipe". Disgusting! I think they taste very limey. Old El Paso has been our go to brand for years, guess we are finding a new brand of refried beans.

Been buying these for years and the contents always dump out in a congealed mass that I heat and stir into a pasty, substance like beans would be if you mashed them up. Today they poured out. Didn't seem to have a bad smell, but I ended up throwing them out as I didn't want to take a chance. More like a bean soup than refried beans.

Old El Paso refried beans helps satisfy my craving when not visiting Mexico or my local Mexican restaurant. I noticed that the Old El Paso refried are thicker than the restaurant style which actually make then better for burritos that I make at home. I would recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our favorite brand of refried beans! Great flavor and consistency. Ready very quickly so it makes a great side dish to any Mexican inspired meal. Versatile so that you can serve it by itself or add extras to make a special side or dip.

We just tried these with our nachos, and like others here, we thought they had gone bad. They were not at all savory, and they left a strong chemical or chlorine aftertaste. We threw away the whole large can of them. I’m baffled that customer service keeps saying these changes were in response to customer feedback. Did anyone taste these before they sent them to market? I read the ingredient list and it doesn’t list any chemicals. This was disappointing and a waste of food and money.

However, for a quick fix or a fun family taco night, old el paso does the job. It's the only brand of canned refried beans I'll buy if I'm doing a super quick dinner.
