This review is my own opinion. I was not paid to write this review:
Overall when looking at the O'Cedar brand, it is very reliable...to an extent. I have purchased this product, around 1 per year. To look at the functionality of the complete system being offered, allows the consumer a better experience at a better value. O'Cedar throws in the 3 extra mopheads, which is nice for the bundle, but they are not the issue.
The extendable, telescopic handle allows the consumer a luxury of 3 different heights, based upon user's preference. There is a tendency to "pop" or pull the mop handle out of the plastic joint, which holds this to the mophead snap portion. I have not had a real issue with this breaking.
The cotton mopheads are nice, wring out easily in the spin functionality. I always ensure to wash these separate from my regular whites to ensure that whatever bacteria is trapped within the fibers, are gone. I also combine a little oxi-clean to the wash to help sanitize the mopheads. I let them airdry versus throwing them in the dryer. Do what you prefer.
A con to the mopheads are, since they are cotton, the fibers have a tendency to catch onto other debris, that is just annoying, at most, to pick out of the mop. I replace my mopheads once a week due to a consistent use for dog accidents.
The mop bucket design feature is nice. The accessibility of the bucket handle rests towards the back portion. The handle, in itself, is not too bulky, and the layered plastic design allows for a better reinforcement when exchanging out the mop water. If the mop bucket is not cleaned out regularly, the residue from the dirty water builds up, like any other mop bucket left over time, allowing for the transfer of old dirt into, what is supposed to be clean mop water.
But the reliability factor of the functionality of the foot pedal for easier wringing of the mophead is a failed design. After a few months of consistent use from cleaning up accidents/ mud/ chores, the gear mechanism tends to fail, starting with a slight grinding from the plastic gears when you depress the foot pedal.
Overtime, I understand that plastic wears with every depression on the foot pedal, but the issue lies in the irritating constant grinding when needing to wring out the mop. Then, the gears begin to wear even more, allowing for the spin function to "skip" a spin cycle when you depress the foot pedal, making you work extra to wring out the mop.
Overall, the product is rated at 2 stars for functionality. I would recommend this product for individuals who do not use the mop in such a consistent manner as I do. I feel that my experinece is geared more towards a small business aspect of foot traffic, versus a personal dwellings foot traffic. I feelike my overall scenario does not require a more industrial mop nor mop bucket, but a better design in the mop bucket gear functionality.
I will continue to purchase O'Cedar, and continue to research their brands to see what they offer for an industrial aspect.
