Extremely difficult to clean. Too much smoke no matter what you try

Bought this about a month ago, very pleased , I would have been happier if both plates came in box.

We cooked prime rib stakes on this first and they came out delicious.

I dont think it works properly. I put 450 and still needs an hour to grill burgers
