Picked this product up directly for my local Sam's Club. Was careful with loading and unloading but the freezer came with a pretty large dent/damage at the bottom right of the freezer door even though the cardboard box appeared fine. Fortunately this did not seem to impact its functionality. The freezer was easy to set up and does get cold, although it takes awhile to get there. I like the profile of the freezer and being upright also has its advantages. Note there is no automatic defrost and the shelves are not removable/adjustable since the wires are built into the shelves. It works for now but longevity may be an issue down the line, e.g. the external panels run hot while the interior runs lukewarm cold at max freeze setting. Other reviewers are probably accurate in their assessment. I would not recommend purchasing this product given the condition I received mine in.

I bought this in November of 2019 and when Covid-19 hit, I filled it with meat. I came home today after being gone a week, opened my garage and was hit with a horrible smell. Freezer just quit working and all my meat is spoiled and blood is seeping out of the door all over the place. If I could give it a zero I would!!!

New Thomson freezer constantly gets ice build up since day one. Have had it three months. It would be so much more worth it to buy a better freezer even though it would a little more. The seal on these freezers must be bad because somehow warm air is getting inside to cause that ice buildup. Or there is an internal problem. Either way, DO NOT BUY!

If it wasn’t for the fact that my husband already has it out of the box and set up, I would return it. I am so disappointed in the size. I could literally cry over it. It is so much smaller than I expected. I actually used a measuring tape to measure out what was given in the specifications before we bought it to see how big it would be in the space it would be filling, and it falls very short. I’m shocked at how small it is inside. We bought it because our old fridge in the garage is done, but I use the freezer space in that fridge. I needed something to replace that and give me more room. This freezer replaces it, but it doesn’t give me more room. And, you can’t move the shelves inside the freezer to adjust for height of items. I wish I had seen this before my husband took it out of the box because we would have returned it. It’s all well and good if you want a tiny freezer, but not if you need a replacement freezer. As far as how it operates, it works.

Beware, these things aren't made very well. Packaging looks good on the outside, just wait for the surprise inside. The bottom plate for the door hinge was bent to the point the door won't stay on. The back bottom corners were all smashed up. Shouldn't have to make repairs to something just purchased. Customer service was a joke also.

I switched from a 3 cubic ft chest freezer to this because I was tired of digging to find items. I bought it about a week ago so I can't comment about the freeze or defrosting of this unit BUT I can say it doesn't add up to a 6.5 cubic ft as advertised. When I put all of the items from the 3 cubic ft freezer into this I BARELY got everything in - and I still had a small pocket of room in the chest freezer. I would have returned it but my husband had already cut the box up and put it in the recycling bin. Feel like I took a step back in my freezer size/options.

If I would have wrote this review when we first bought it in November 2019 I would have told you it worked great. Now 6 months after we plugged it in, the top 4 shelves are not cooling, we took everything out, defrosted it, wiped it out and plugged it back in. It appeared to be cooling so we emptied the cooler back into the freezer (minus the food we had already threw away or shoved into our regular freezer) 3 days later (checking temps REGULARLY) the top shelves are at 50 degrees and the bottom 2 are at 11 degrees. The top shelves are dripping water onto the bottom shelves. This time we called the company who made it & they say they will email me instructions on what to do next. I will update you if it gets fixed....BUY THE WARRANTY AT SAMS CLUB if you buy the freezer, customer service is emailing me, no trouble shooting, no trying to help over the phone....

I was very excited to get this before the holidays last fall. But it has proved to be almost completely useless. The space between the shelves is so small you can't put a roast, a ham, a turkey, ice cream container, or even a frozen pizza box. You can't adjust or even remove a shelf as they are part of the coil. Extremely poor design. I can only use it for frozen vegetables. It's cheap for a reason, it's useless. I wanted a stand up freezer so I wouldn't have to strain my back digging into a chest freezer, but they are so much bigger and better, more practical. I honestly can't even think of any practical use for how small the shelves are in this freezer. Don't waste your money, buy a chest freezer or find a standup with adjustable shelves.

Got this freezer as a Christmas gift, kept it in the garage - worked fine for a few months then over frosted and after defrosting no longer worked. Was somewhat of a hassle to get refund for purchase but eventually got it. Although priced really good would not recommend as it didn’t even last a whole year.

The top 2 shelves don’t freeze anymore. It stopped working right as the warranty ran out.
