Hi Beth - Water and Ice building up in your freezer is most often caused by the door being out of adjustment. You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge.<br />Run your hand around the edge of the door - do you feel cold air?<br />Try the &#34;dollar bill test&#34; - close the door on a dollar bill at several locations around the door - there should be significant resistance when you try to pull out the dollar bill - if it pulls out easily, the door is out of adjustment.<br />Adjust the front legs such that the front of the freezer is slightly higher than the rear - gravity will assist in keeping the door closed.<br />Lubricate the door gasket with a bit of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to keep the gasket pliable.<br />Moisture in the freezer also comes from the contents - keep frozen foods covered/sealed in plastic - butcher/freezer paper is not a good wrapper.
