Hi Beth - Water and Ice building up in your freezer is most often caused by the door being out of adjustment. You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge. Run your hand around the edge of the door - do you feel cold air? Try the "dollar bill test" - close the door on a dollar bill at several locations around the door - there should be significant resistance when you try to pull out the dollar bill - if it pulls out easily, the door is out of adjustment. Adjust the front legs such that the front of the freezer is slightly higher than the rear - gravity will assist in keeping the door closed. Lubricate the door gasket with a bit of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to keep the gasket pliable. Moisture in the freezer also comes from the contents - keep frozen foods covered/sealed in plastic - butcher/freezer paper is not a good wrapper.

Poor workmanship

Switching the door swing isn’t so easy. Frosted up after doing so. Had to readjust the hinges a couple of times. Also only two of three holes were drilled on the top hinge so the cover plate doesn’t fit. Poor workmanship.

The freezer works good. But check your item before leaving if possible, i did a pick up order and it was dented and scrach marks on my brand new freezer i called sams to let them know and they pretty much said they didnt care
