[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hormel chili with beans was so tasty for being none homemade. I warmed it up on the stovetop for about 15 minutes making it nice and hot. I added a little salt to it because I like a lot of salt in my food. The consistency was thick but not too think. I love how thick it was. If I would change one thing about it, I would add more meat and fewer beans. It seemed to have a lot of beans in it.

I used this variety of chili to make chili dogs. It paired very well with the hot dogs I used and was just right; not too thick and not too runny. The beans were cooked perfectly and weren't too hard or too mushy. This chili is superior to other chili varieties I have tried in the past. I have used this chili many times in the past and really enjoy it. I will definitely be purchasing this chili again in the future for all sorts of recipes or to eat just as is. I would absolutely recommend this Hormel Chili with Beans to others looking for a great chili product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never had canned Chili but was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Filling and great for a quick dinner or lunch. Not as good as homemade, but for a quick lunch or dinner on a busy day, I'd definitely eat it again.

I am a Swedish national, visiting the US for a year for research and teaching. Currently staying in a dorm at UoIU, so the possibilities to cook are basically limited to working with a micro. Before I went into academia I was a professional chef for ten years working in Europe in Africa, so I can work both minimalistic or go all out in a full set kitchen. Being so extremely limited as you are in a dorm room, I am trying to minimalize both recipes as well as method of cooking. I have been eating my way through most brands of canned chili offered at my local supermarket and Hormel's is a very good choice for me. The nutrition value compared to price is very good and even though I'd prefer a chili that would be slightly more spicy, I find that I can ajust that by adding chopped chilies and some freshly chopped cilantro plus a splash of lime to this base chili. Probably eat this base chili for three or four times a week, as is or on corn tortillas or on top of some nachos.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a good product. I would be willing to eat it any time that the mood strikes to eat chili and I don't want to make a pot of my own. Although a little bland, the flavor is good and the consistency is nice.

I bought a can of chili with beans and a can of chili without bean. Opened the chili without beans and it was not as before. No chili flavor, thin, and mostly tomato taste. So I opened the chili with beans and the product was thick in the bottom of the can. A bit darker than The last time and the taste was just bad. Not the same as just two weeks ago. We use the chili without beans for chili cheese dip. Glad I didn't ruin the cheese. What happened? Hormel chili with beans has been a "go to" weekend lunch for a long time. Disappointed.

I noticed a difference in the photo on the can. It had something green inside. I've been buying this chili for many decades .. with and without beans (which is good for dips), but I kept wondering if the contents had changed. Well yes, there are no greens inside, but there is also no liquid, at all. The consistency is such that I had to pry it out of the can. Once it was cooking, all I could see was meat and beans w/o a sauce of any kind. The taste was a bit different, and I didn't need to eat it from a bowl. It was like a glob of food sitting on dinner plate. It was too dry, much too dry. What happened? I've never had anyone else's canned chili and I liked yours. Now I'm not so sure. I was happy to see other reviews elsewhere had similar comments. It seems the product has changed. Please bring back the old recipe and it wouldn't hurt to remove the green onions/celery (?) from the photo and tell us the old recipe is back!
