Go-to product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a good product. I would be willing to eat it any time that the mood strikes to eat chili and I don't want to make a pot of my own. Although a little bland, the flavor is good and the consistency is nice.

A great meal or side dish!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing like the original! You can't go wrong with a quick, hearty chili than this. I will say I usually purchase without beans though but it is nice to get the extra nutritional value. Tastes so good too! I recommend this chili by itself or even with something like hot dogs.

Beans needed to be cooked a little longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the flavor was good and meaty. There were no vegetable chunks like some varieties, just the meat and beans. The beans, however, seemed to be not cooked all the way and were a little harder than expected and harder than other varieties. This is a decent alternative to homemade chili if you just want a quick meal or topper for items like cornbread, chips, or a baked potato. It was hardy and with a very slight spiciness to it.

not the same

I bought a can of chili with beans and a can of chili without bean. Opened the chili without beans and it was not as before. No chili flavor, thin, and mostly tomato taste. So I opened the chili with beans and the product was thick in the bottom of the can. A bit darker than The last time and the taste was just bad. Not the same as just two weeks ago. We use the chili without beans for chili cheese dip. Glad I didn't ruin the cheese. What happened? Hormel chili with beans has been a "go to" weekend lunch for a long time. Disappointed.

Great flavor - Love the beans!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fact that this Chili has beans in it! Just pair this chili with Velvetta and you have a great chili dip! Great bold flavors and it's always a family favorite. I like the size of the can - it feeds my little munchkins! Whenever I go out shopping, I always look to buy a can or two of this because you can make a lot of great recipes with it! Chili dogs is also a favorite in my household. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Best chili

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really loved this chili. My favorite Hormel chili is with beans. This is a great lunch, dinner, or snack. This is also great as a side or as a topping. I thought it was great quality, hearty, and delicious. It really tasted authentic, and not like it came from a can.

Would definately buy again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never had canned Chili but was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Filling and great for a quick dinner or lunch. Not as good as homemade, but for a quick lunch or dinner on a busy day, I'd definitely eat it again.

Never again

I used to buy many cans a week of Hormel Chili. What Einstein decided to change the original recipe they had for years? I will never buy this product again. I'm sure people who have never tasted the original may think it's good but nothing compared to the original. I have to find another brand that doesn't have the added peppers and whatever else they added. Also. I don't like my chili tasting like tomato sauce which this one does. In my family it's a collective YUK!!!

Why did you ruin the taste of your chili?

I have loved your chili ever since I was a little boy, and now it tastes like cardboard! My wife liked Spam and you changed it and now she will not buy it again. I loved your chili and now I won't buy it again. I rated it one star because there was there was no "no star" box to check. I am really disappointed and sad that it has changed.

Finished with this product!

Oct. 2019: First of all my Mom made the best homemade Chili and Beans in the world, and I have made her recipe many times. When she passed away in 1993 (Dad had passed in 1989), and because I was alone at home, I had to prepare my own lunch for work and fix dinner when I got home. I started to use more convience products like TV Dinners, Canned Soup, and Can Chili. I could not afford to go out to eat very often. I had never tried Hormel Chili with Beans before, and Boy was it good. It tasted just like Momma's homemade chili. I was very happy with it up until 2017. During the year 2017 the Chili got watery at times, and I thought must be new Kids working for Hormel. The year 2018 was better, then in this year 2019 it became Dry. You use to could shake the can and you could hear a little liquid sloosing in the can. (The way it should be). Now I have to add water to even get a bowl of Chili. BOTTOM LINE IS: Either you have a Serious Quality Control problem, or you have changed your recipe to be more healthy. When I open a can of Hormel & Chili now I find beans that are cooked until they split in half, dark brown almost burnt beans, no water, and no oil. Use to be your beans where whole, and there was an oily red chili floating on top, and I'm pretty sure some garlic powder in it as well. All that is gone now! if you have changed your recipe to be healthier, come on really, if you want a good bowl of Chili, you gotta make it right. If it is a Quality Control thing, then you people have some serious issues! RESULTS: I'M GOING BACK TO MAKING MY MOM'S HOMEMADE CHILI RECIPE. AT LEAST I KNOW WHAT'S IN IT, AND HOW TO COOK IT RIGHT !!!
