I've been using Dawn Detergent for as long as I can remember. For 20 years it was the only soap I purchased for my window cleaning business. I used it for anything and everything that needed to be cleaned. Recently, the fragrance was changed to the most subtly sickening smell I have ever encountered. It actually makes me nauseous. My understanding is that Dawn has been the #1 dish soap for years.....why change it? Unfortunately, I'm going to stop buying it. I have no idea what I'll replace it with, but I will.

This new “clean scent” sticks to the dishes despite ample rinsing. My coffee smells like this horrible smell. It's not pleasant- it's like a bad smell trying to be covered up by too much air freshener. You ruined the best household product on the market.

I have been using dawn dish soap exclusively for over 20 years. I seriously have used nothing else as Dawn cuts grease like nothing else. I even use it on grease stains on my laundry - yes it removes set grease stains! I had been working my way through my stash and finally had to buy a new bottle. Lo and behold it has this HORRIBLE powerful smell that gives me headaches and I can taste in my dishes. I started researching the new scent and holy cow there are so many people with the same complaints of me. P&G has done nothing to adjust. They should make 2 scents!! Unfortunately Dawn just pushed me into the category of never buying again. I will have to find another brand that cuts grease.

As others have stated, I'd not give any stars if the option was available. This new fresh scent is far too overpowering, resulting in headaches whenever I've used it. Thank you Dawn for making the switch to a safer dish soap a necessity. Attitude dish soap works beautifully and has no repulsive scent.

I've been using Dawn for at least a decade but will now need to switch to something else due to the offensive and oppressive new smell which never seems to rinse clean off my dishes and has caused my lip to swell up as though burned. The scent lingers long in the air after the washing is done and takes a lot of rinsing to get off your hands. Had to dump out a coffee as the only thing I could taste was Dawn after washing a cup in it. Even if I wasn't worried about health issues and skin irritation the overwhelming stench of this offensive fragrance would be enough for me to switch. Much like P&G's efforts to add fragrance to Ivory soap this was ill advised on the part of the manufacturer. I've seen articles suggesting that when manufacturers change to strong fragrance it's to create a strong association of the product in the memory of the user and it certainly does that. I will now avoid P&G products as the memory of that horrible stink has burned itself into my memory, as well as swelling my lip. Your product testing was clearly bungled. I've seen the official denials about skin irritation and nausea. You might want to look into independent testing in future. I would return the unused portion but I think I'd better hold on to what's left in case further health issues develop. I know there are alternate scents for Dawn, as I just went shopping, but trust is gone.

It cuts through grease quickly, leaves dishes sparkling clean, and a small amount goes a long way. The fresh clean scent is pleasant without being overpowering. I've been using this dish soap and really like it A small amount produces plenty of lather and effectively removes grease and tough stains without requiring much scrubbing It also goes a long way because it can be diluted without losing its effectiveness The original without pleasant and not overpowering Although it costs a bit more than other brands it is worth it for the performance and quality it offers

I couldn't figure out why our dish soap wasn't cutting the simplest of oils (olive and avocado) from bowls and utensils. Then I realized our dish soap was green and not blue. We had inadvertently bought Palmolive and not our usual Dawn a few months back. We've now restocked with Dawn Ultra.

I am actually allergic to Dawn, but I had a small sample bottle. I ran out of Ajax before I realized I needed more, so I was forced to use this bottle of Dawn. My hands are dried out and itchy since I'm allergic, but I'm dealing. I thought something was rotting in my sink, but then I realized it was the scent of the soap. It is horribly overpowering. I can't buy Dawn anyway, but thought I'd review what little I used just to warn others of the smell.

It form a rich lather, cuts though grease easily and leaves no residue. The texture is perfect_ just a little goes a long way. It's definitely my go to for handwashing dishes.
