I use to use dawn the original with the old scent that it for years !!!! It had quite a mild and clean scent barely there and not overly fragranced which was awesome as im super sensitive to overly fragranced products and never had any issues whatsoever , my dishes would smell just clean and no fragranced lingered . However for whatever idiotic reasons they've decided their soap needed a change of fragrance?🙄 seriously ? Everyone i know hates and or even better LOATHES the new scent 🤢🤮 it smells like sewer mixed with cheap perfume sprayed ontop to make it "floral" its DISGUSTING 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤢🤢🤮🤢🤢! I tried it several different times trying to hope maybe it was a bad batch and jope , its just the scent of it now and im devastated because it was my go to soap for everything!!!! Our clinics even had to stop using it because our providers and clinic staff hated it to ! Seriously stop telling us lies about having such "positive feedback " most all your reviews on the product say the same thing as us , its disgusting and headache inducing , it lingers on our dishes no matter how much we rinse or how long they air out , we can taste it in all our cups 🤢🤮, do what all of us want and change it back to the REAL ORIGINAL SCENT 😤!!!! SINCERELY ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS 🤢

Terrible New Scent
You look at all the reviews and they were five star until they changed the scent and then everything has dropped to one star for most recent reviews. I am sure P&G thinks this always happens when you change a product. We have been using only Dawn for years and the smell is so bad that we are now switching. I really hope P&G wakes up and realizes that people loved the original before they lose customers to other brands.

Return to old formula
The new scent is horrible. I have been a lifelong Dawn user and noticed the change to the new fresh scent over a year ago. I hated it then and can no longer find the original Dawn. We will no longer be purchasing from this company. The scent is too strong and lingers. Definitely not what we want!

Shouldn't have changed the original scent!
The quality of soap has deteriorated over the last several years. I used to only have to use a tiny bit of soap for a load of dishes but now I have to spend more time applying more soap than I do actually washing them. The new sent of the original dawn smells like the ultra and I cant stomach it. That is why I can't use the ultra because it triggers my migraines and even my kids complain of the strong, chemical and toxic smell. Our dishes taste and smell like the soap even after several hot rinses. Been using dawn for almost 40 years and my elders even longer.

To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Your satisfaction means a lot to us, and we hope you'll give Dawn another try. New formula, new scent?
Was the scent the only thing that changed? The original can never left water spots on my dishes but now everything is covered in spots and this makes me question if they are clean. The smell is very difficult to get off my dishes as well. I loved the original dawn and used it for everything. I'm really sad that it has been changed and am begrudgingly looking for a different dish soap.

Worst scent ever for a dish washing liquid.
Sadly P&G took something that wasn't broke and "fixed" it. The new "original scent" of Dawn is just awful. a clawing sweet floral that is overpowering and nauseating. I for one will no longer buy Dawn. this after over 25 years of using it. It still cuts the grease but I can't stomach the scent.

Dawn stinks.
I switched to the generic brand soap because it smells more like original dawn than dawn does now and it's cheaper. It's a light clean smell like dawn used to be. Now dawn just stinks. These automated corporate responses are just here to make it sound like they care, they really don't. Show them we also don't care by switching soap brands. These companies never show their customers loyalty, so why should we? The new formula stinks, doesn't rinse well, and the scent lingers. I shouldn't have to “rinse my dishes in a vinegar bath” to ensure perfumes are removed from my dishes. Dawn, do better.

The smell is nauseating
The smell!!! What are you doing? Lifetime user of Dawn and love the product. The upside down squeeze bottle- game changer! But for real- the new smell is awful and unnecessary. If I want perfume-y smells on my dishes and hands, I'll switch to gross Palmolive. Please please please tone down the smell. And don't say blah blah porous items can retain smell- it stays on my hard anodized steel pans too.

Hate the smell!
Why did you change this product? The smell is disgusting. Why do you think people want to smell that while doing dishes? Do not suggest for me to use your fragrance free product because it is not available in the 70 oz refill size and is not available in any stores in my town. After using your product for 40 years I am sad to say I will be buying a different brand.

Even pets hate the new scent! It's horrible!
I am allergic to the new scents. My pets also will not eat or drink from their dishes after this is used to wash them. This is really bad since I have a diabetic cat that needs to eat. I have had to stop using dawn after years of swearing by it for dishes, laundry, pets, and grease removal.

If you'd like to remove the scent from your dishes, try soaking them in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it or run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe).
