For allergy sufferers

Thank you so much for coming out with a "free" version for high efficiency washers. I was just told by the allergist yesterday that I had to change all my products from shampoo, body lotions, hand soaps and laundry products, etc., to free and sensitive products. I knew I had seen a "free" liquid softener before, but didn't know anything was available for He machines. I have just purchased my first high efficiency bottle of Tide Free. I plan on pulling out all of the rest of my non-free items and donating them.

Terrific!

Finally! A Tide Free for HE machines that leaves clothes soft and clean. The soap really does rinse out and the fabric is soft. I have been using Tide Free and Tide Free for HE for years and my wash would usually come out stiff and I'd rinse again with no change and I live in a soft water area. Now, cotton sweaters, sweats, tees are soft - I usually use a double rinse, anyway. No odor, no damage. Please tell your chemists to leave this one alone and if they get bored, give them something else to do. And contrary to other reviews, my machine smells BETTER and the clothes have no odor and I have no need to use white vinegar to get them soft or cleaner. Get rid of that 2x Tide Free HE.

Disappointed

My family has a sensitivity to fragrance, so I started using the 2X Ultra Tide Free several months ago, with satisfactory results. However, it is no longer on the shelves and now Tide Free & Gentle is the only fragrance free Tide product available at the store. I started noticing over the next few weeks that it does not seem to have the cleaning power of the previous product. I noticed that grease spots were not releasing and both whites and colors were not getting as clean as that to which I had become accustomed. I am disappointed that such a great product as the 2X Ultra Tide Free is no longer available, and view the replacement as a non-effective substitute for day to day laundry requirements.

reply from Tide Team

I am sorry you have noticed a difference in cleaning with the Tide Free and Gentle. The product name was changed in July, 2010. However, there were no ingredient changes. You may want to pre-treat directly on the grease stains. Sometimes this type of stain may need a little more attention. I hope this information helps.

Excellent Product

We are highly allergic to dyes and fragrances in most laundry detergents. I've been disappointed in the other "free" laundry products I've tried because they don't get my clothes clean. Tide Free is the only dye and perfume free laundry detergent that I have found that is excellent at getting my clothes clean.

I love this Tide

I have an allergy-prone husband, so I always washed our linens in Tide Free. Tide Free & Gentle liquid seems to be the same as my old Tide Free. It does an excellent job in hot water. However, I once mistakenly picked up a bottle of Tide Free & Gentle "he" -- it seems to perform just as well. Is there any problem of which I am not aware in using "he" laundry products in regular washing machines? Thanks!

Ony laundry detergent I use

I only buy Tide for my entire family and this is the only detergent I will use. I buy regular Tide my older kids use because they like a scent after their clothes are washed. Have dry skin and eczema and sensitivity to perfumes. I wish they would make it in a bleach formula though. Their current bleach formula smells too bad for me.

Removes All Odors

I am allergic to the perfumes in laundry soap and Tide Free & Gentle works great for me. It does remove all odors and stains without all the other skin irritating additives. I have tried other products but keep coming back to the only laundry soap that I have used for years. I will not use anything else.

Perfect for baby!

With my first born I used Dreft on his clothes and regular Tide on mine. Turns out he had such sensitive skin that he would break out in a rash from any contact with my clothes. His doctor recommended Tide free to wash everyones clothes in. Now almost 3 years later and another baby on the way Tide Free is still the only detergent I use!

WONDERFUL PRODUCT

My husband has many allergies so I use your TIDE FREE. It is a wonderful product that cleans a well as Tide but he doesn't have any skin rashes or problems with the fragrance. It has been wonderful to have one less worry about my husband of 61 years! Thank you TIDE FREE!

Good choice for babies

I was looking for a baby friendly detergent for my newborn and after reading reviews, I found Tide Free & Gentle. It is free of dyes and perfumes, making it a great option for babies with sensitive skin. The only downside is that it's not very effective on tough stains. Overall, it's a good choice.
