I've been a fan of dawn dishwashing liquid for many, many years. Not only does it clean my dishes squeaky clean, but I also use it in my mop water and just for general all-purpose cleaning around my house

Why Can I Taste It?

I can taste it on my dishes even after rinsing it twice in hot water. I used a literal drop to wash my travel cup and my coffee is fresh rain flavored.

Our products go through lots of testing to ensure top quality and performance, so we wouldn't expect our Dishwashing Soap to impart the product taste into food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. It's important to not soak porous items; instead wash them immediately and rinse thoroughly. Dawn Free & Clear have the lightest scents, and may be the best option for you. To remove the taste/smell, soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it or run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). Best Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made the mistake of trying to save money with a store brand - never again! Dawn uses half the product for twice the results so I'm sticking with the winner!

Dawn is my favorite dishwashing soap, its doesn't seem like you're washing the dishes with just water like some other brands. It's smells great, it does its job and I would buy it again. I'd definitely recommend it.

Color remover

I used dawn platinum on a spot on my brown leather sofa and it took the color out! I have used dish soap on my sofa before and never had any issues!!!! My sofa is ruined!!!

While Dawn Platinum Dishwashing Liquid, with Refreshing Rain can be used for many uses, but cleaning leather furniture isn't one of them. If choosing to use Dawn for any purpose other than dishes, be sure you test the soap in an inconspicuous area to ensure no damage to the external surface will occur. Be sure to not allow the wash solution to remain on surfaces for an extended period of time due to the possibility of damage. This is not expected but is possible if the surface is already compromised. Why is there even any other dish soap? Need to scrub a dirty pan. Dawn! Need to clean the house? Dawn. Need to remove a grease stain from a shirt? Dawn. There is no other dish soap that even comes close.

Excellent washing power

I just discovered this detergent a month ago and I won't do without it no other dish detergent comes close, sudsy, powerful, and for someone who hates washing dishes and always has it makes washing dishes easier... Thanks dawn...!!!
