Nauseating scent of new Dawn in turquoise color
Big mistake! The scent of the new Dawn dishwashing liquid In the turquoise color is so nauseating that I can’t use it. I had been using Dawn exclusively for many years until today when I bought the new bottle. They have lost me as a customer. I will never use Dawn again unless they bring back the old scent.

New Clean Scent is Awful!
I've used dawn my whole life and never thought twice about it. It smelled like soap. I just bought a new refill size bottle and it has a horrible perfume smell. I seriously hope that it doesn't leave my dishes smelling like the soap because it's nauseating.

Smell is overpowering and nauseating
What happened to the old Dawn Platinum? The new Dawn Platinum smells so bad it’s nauseating. My husband usually never complains about product smells but he wouldn’t stop talking about how the new Dawn smells so overpowering. He also commented how he washed a knife and used it to cut an orange and then could taste the soap while eating the orange. We notice that you can’t rinse it out completely on dish clothes and they turn sour over night. We basically chucked the huge new bottle down the drain.

Dawn platinum smells terrible!
I don’t know why Dawn now smells so bad. I feel sorry for any animals that have to undergo the stench from the fragrance that have to be cleaned. It doesn’t seem to rinse off very easily either. I thought I might have bought the wrong thing. I never had any issues with Dawn blue until this new platinum. I have sensitivity to fragrance and this isn’t going to work for me. I hope they still make the original, if not it looks like I’ll be getting a different more subtle smelling and less clingy dishwashing soap. I may have to give the rest away. It’s just too stinky and clingy.

A lot of thought into creating features that we think you'll like, but we certainly understand that preferences can vary from person to person. As well, we do have many quality checks in place to ensure that you can use our products with ease. To help remove the scent from your dishes, you can soak them in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it or run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). We'd also like to mention that while we did change the name from Dawn Platinum Refreshing Rain to Dawn Platinum Fresh Rain earlier this year, no scent change has taken place. This was a name change only. Our Dawn Platinum and Dawn Original are two seperate products, and our Dawn Original does continue to be available. We hope this is helpful. We'll make sure that your comments are shared with the rest of our team, and we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product if this has been your experience. "New and improved fresh scent" is horrible.
The reason for my 2 star rating is because the "new and improved fresh scent" on Dawn Platinum is terrible. It's so bad, I can't stand to use it. It smells somewhat rancid, or at least that what the smell invokes for me. While I loved the cleaning performance of Dawn, I will no longer buy it unless they change the smell.

Disgusting scent since formula change.
Why on earth would you ruin a perfectly good (great) product by adding the disgusting odor fighter to it? Ugh, absolutely disapointed with this recent formula change. Bring back platinum dawn WITHOUT ODOR FIGHTER, which now with it smells like those nauseating garbage bags.

You Ruined a Good Thing!
I am beyond disappointed in the "new" Dawn formula. I am 60 years old and have been using Dawn since my mother started using it when I was in my teens. I thought that it was my imagination that the new Dawn was not cleaning my dishes as it had in the past. That the soap seemed less concentrated and that I had to clean, rinse, re-clean and re-rinse to get my dishes. I realized that I wasn't going crazy when I noticed how quickly the level of soap in the bottle was getting lower. I will be shopping for a new dish soap after all of these decades. Sad!

HATE the new “Clean Scent”
Hate the new “clean” scent. It smells like laundry detergent (eww!). Not the scent that I want to smell when taking a drink of water from a freshly washed glass. Makes me concerned what nasty chemicals are hiding in the new fragrance. I’ve been a devoted and loyal Dawn fan(atic) for decades. No other dish soap would ever enter our house. But now I’m devastated because we have to find a new dish soap. I threw out the large Dawn we just purchased because of the new fragrance - we have kids who are sensitive to fragrances and Dawn was always the safe option. Not any more. Massively disappointed. Please bring back the original scent!!!!!!!

Horrible odor
This product smells like strong chemicals and the odor lingers on my dishes even after thoroughly rinsing. This can’t be healthy! I’m tossing out my newly purchased 90 ounce bottle. Be sure to take a sniff in the store before purchasing so you don’t waste your money like I did.

Dawn is the best dish detergent ever hands down. Really cuts the grease on dishes and has long- lasting properties that allow you to wash a lot of dishes before changing the water. It’s worth paying a little more for. You’re pouring your money down the drain with those cheaper brands which are often rough on your hands as well. Dawn isn’t. Great stuff!!
