We're so sorry that happened to you. Make sure that the yellow dots on the nozzle are completely lined up to form a circle. The yellow circle must be lined up exactly in order for the trigger to spray. If the yellow circle is off, even by a little bit, it can permanently damage the trigger. Our Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray is designed to have a semi-continuous spray, so it's possible that it may continue to spray even after you release the trigger. To avoid overspray, we suggest moving the sprayer closer to the dishes and not moving away before you release the trigger and the sprayer has stopped spraying. As well, this product is available in different scents, so we suggest trying out a new scent in the future.
