It says to take Prilosec OTC every day for 14 days helps to ensure that acid production is consistently controlled. I felt so much better after day three I couldn’t believe it! I finished the 14-day treatment and felt like a new person. No more constant heartburn for me. I bought the 14 count size but, it comes in other size packages. I like that I take just one pill in the morning and my stomach feels better for 24 hours. The timed-release pill works very well for me. Prilosec OTC works differently than other products I’ve tried in that it shuts down the pumps in the stomach that create stomach acid. It stopped my heartburn in its tracks! It’s backed by science and I trust the brand. Finally, a treatment for frequent heartburn that works for me. I talked to my doctor before taking this as I am on other medicine and I wanted to be sure that this wouldn’t interfere. Thankfully my doctor gave me the ok and I started my treatment. It provides relief all day. This is my to go medicine to stop heartburn. Eating is my second hobby; but eating comes with percussions. Usually after having a tasty meal I would get heartburn, with Prilosec OTC it helps me reduce any flare ups and gives me relieve throughout the day. Using Prilosec is amazing and allows me to get going everyday.

I have been using Prilosec for years. However, one side effect that is not listed is it depletes Vitamin B12 levels in the body. I had to being B12 injection therapy and tried other medications for heart burn. NOTHING else worked. However, I now get it as a prescriptions since my insurance does cover it. It is only $10.00 for a 3 month supply. I wish the OTC was cheaper. I do keep the OTC on hand for emergencies (I forget to get a refill). This is still the only product that works on my GERDS and my doctor wants me on as it protects my stomach from NSAID ulcers.

I was eating Tums daily, like they were candy, and they never touched my acid reflux or heartburn. I spoke with my OB doctor and he recommended Prilosec. I can take one pill every few days and remain reflux free!
