I use these tablets as part of my prescription medicine. I usually try and get it at Sam's Club when it is on sale. When they have a good sale I can usually save $5.00. I run out of this every six weeks, so it is nice to be able to get it on sale whenever possible.

It helps block the heartburn for me so I can just go about my day. I like that these are delayed release easy to swallow tablets. I feel good using these because Prilosec OTC is a brand backed by science & trusted by doctors for 15 years. These little tablets have made a real difference for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Prilosec OTC before eating something I knew was going to give me hearburn. I enjoyed that it helped block and stop my heartburn before ever starting. I also really enjoy the easy to use packaging. And easy to use/swallow the product.

In the 1990's my husband began taking Prilosec. At that time it wasn't OTC yet. But he continued until 2007 when he couldn[t keep food down. He lost 40 pounds in three weeks. Dr.'s won't really say, but it was easy to see that they thought he had stomach cancer. The biopsies were still being tested, but my husband continued "throwing-up." He began dangerously ill and the gastrointestinologist quickly called a surgon. The surgon said he was shocked at what he saw. My husbands stomach hardened to a point that it cease to function and removed more than 50% of his stomach. Calls were made to phiscians across the country to geet their input. None had ever even heard of such reaction until we located a physician at Northwestern Medical Center, Chicago that had seen the symptom before. My advice is "yes it really works. but be careful. Prilosec was the first prescription proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Proton pump inhibitors reduce the production of acid by blocking the enzyme in the wall of the stomach that produces acid. That's what nearly killed my husband. Take this for the short tern but I would be afraid to recommend taking this daily or for more than a few weeks. I'm not in the medical field. I'm someone that thinks the public should be warned about something so divesting . I hope my opinion is taken seriously and be warned.

For me, it has worked very well and very fast! I can't see myself choosing any other heartburn relief product other than this! Satisfied with it 100%!

While I take a Prilosec every morning and have since before it became an OTC product, I take issue now with the packaging I get from COSTCO. I think you could make the product less expensive if there weren't three layers of packaging to get through (and pay for). Since it is over the counter now and not covered by any insurance coverage, the price and protective packaging at COSTCO seems out of line (especially compared with the price almost anywhere else you purchase it). I always take advantage of the COSTCO in-store coupon discounts when available but am irritated everytime I have to cut my way through the various boxes and blister packs. Let's use a little common sense and save a few trees, and save consumers a little money, shall we?

There are foods I know give me heartburn and recently finding out more are. I arrived at the point I'm avoiding foods I've enjoyed eating. After learning Prilosec is a brand trusted by Drs over 15yrs being backed by science of course I started taking Prilosec it's changed so much stopping my frequent heartburn allowing me to enjoy more food again I'm back to being able to eat what I couldn't and avoided before it's a game changer. With the active ingredient omeprazole an acid reducer I'm thrilled I'm not uncomfortable anymore. It's packaged in a brightly colored box with different counts and all info needed to know exactly what your getting including coated pills which enables everyone to be able to take Prilosec.

I have been on Prilosec OTC for about four years and suddenly my insurance won't pay for it any longer. They just stopped, saying I need my Dr. to fill out paperwork. I NEED this medicine, because it is the only thing that stops my chronic heartburn. I can't fathom how the insurance could just cut me off with no notice and now I must suffer. I think that that's pretty un-just and cruel being I have been on it so long and it WORKS GREAT. Can someone tell me why a 14 day medicine I have been taking for four years. Do I have a major ailment? If anyone has any ideas on what I should do, please let me know asap, because I can not afford the OTC. Thank-You.
