I'm very particular about my sauce especially growing up in an area where we made it from scratch. It was so convenient and easy to use. The whole family loved it! Protein and veggies as desired and it’s a one pot meal! The sauce has a strong tomato flavor. It is a great base to start from and add spices to make it your own.

I tried it on some rotini with frozen meatballs and it all went together very well. While it did taste very richly of tomatoes, I personally like a bit more other flavors in my sauce, stronger garlic, onion, red pepper, etc. flavors. My first bowl of pasta I had it straight from the jar but on my second bowl I added those extra spices which really kicked it up a notch. I did greatly enjoy the smooth texture. I also think it could work well as a pizza sauce

It has a rich, classic tomato taste that worked perfectly as a pizza base. That said, I was really disappointed when I took a closer look at the label. The name of this sauce “ Ragú Old World Style Traditional Sauce, Made with Olive Oil” advertises that it’s made with olive oil, but when I read the ingredients list, I couldn’t find olive oil anywhere. Instead, it lists soybean oil—no mention of olive oil at all. It’s frustrating when a product markets itself as something it’s not, especially when so many people are trying to be mindful of what they’re eating and the ingredients they’re using. I’m not sure if this is a communication issue with Influenster and I was given an incorrect name but upon looking online I see it is advertised in other stores as made with olive oil as well. I think Ragú needs to be more honest and transparent in its advertising. If it’s not made with olive oil, it shouldn’t say it is.

I was hesitant to use at first because I thought it would taste like ravioli in a can but surprisingly it did not. It really does taste like a traditional tomato sauce. I find it to be very similar to the other brands. I also like the fact that it comes in a glass jar:)
