I was totally surprised was expecting it to taste like a regular quick sauce, but actually reminded me of my old school Italian family sauce. Give it a ton out of 10 perfect size. Definitely recommend it.

I made spinach and cheese raviolis and the sauce was the perfect compliment. The texture was smooth but stuck to the pasta really well. I froze what we didn't use so that we have some for future use and already brought more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Ragu Old World Style Traditional Sauce to try out. After I open a jar, I always taste it to know what flavors I am starting with. This Traditional Sauce tastes nostalgic in that it reminds me of what I ate on my spaghetti as a kid. This is a mild, slightly sweet sauce with light ingredients. This will be a good base sauce for picky eaters that do not want a lot of seasoning. It is also something that you can dress up by adding fried onions, mushrooms, and bell beppers. If you want a more flavored sauce straight out of the jar, then this would not be for you. I have so many recipes that I can use with a Traditional Sauce, starting with a pasta bake being my favorite. It makes a quick and delicious meal. You can use Ragu to simmer in meatballs for a sub sandwich. Today, I made eggplant parmesian that was covered in melted mozarella and topped with Ragu Old World Style Traditional Sauce. It was delicious. The sauce gives it the moisture and a thick tomato accompanyment that it needs. It is the perfect companion for this dish. The sauce is supposed to be made with Olive Oil, but it doesn't say this anywhere on my bottle, and the ingredients only lists a soybean oil. I'm not sure if this version is supposed to be "with olive oil," but my review is based on the Ragu Tradional Sauce that I received.

When I was younger, the brand wasn’t considered a top pasta sauce. Trying the sauce now, it’s still very sweet like a remembered. I like a more savory pasta sauce, but it could be your cup of tea. The consistency is also more on the runny side compared to other popular sauces. Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s a bad sauce by any means. I do think the taste depends more on a personal preference for sweet vs savory foods. It doesn’t compete with my other favorite pasta sauces, so I likely wouldn’t choose it over others. BUT it’s still a pasta sauce, and pasta is pretty good no matter what!

My mom used to make and it’s nice to see that it’s still around better than ever packaging still the same as always hearing the pop when you hit the bottom of the jar and then the quality of the ingredients is so good.
