My husband and I sat down for a favorite meal of Ragu spaghetti and we couldn’t finish our serving. No longer a taste we recognized (and enjoyed) and it seemed to have a lot of garlic to find that fact. I later retrieved the jar from the trash hoping I had purchased a different product. I didn’t know ‘now with olive oil’ meant it would be unrecognizable. It was our last Ragu purchase. You force me to give a one-star rating.

During COVID my neighbor bought the ragu traditional with olive oil for me .... I hate it!!!!! So when I shopped myself..I made a point to find regular traditional WITHOUT olive oil.... CAN NOT FIND IT!!! I have never liked any other jar sauce but ragu ...but now I will need to find a new sauce!

Ragu Traditional has always been my favorite jarred sauce and it's the only one my daughter will eat. I saw that the label said it now has olive oil, but I didn't imagine how terrible it would be. Awful! Please consider bringing back the original. Spaghetti with Ragu has always been the simple meal I could eat when not feeling well. I'll have to find something else for now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy using this as a sauce to make lasagna or a ziti bake with. It mixed in well with the other flavors and isn’t overpowering. It was a nice classic and neutral taste, rich and not too chunky. It’s also a huge time saver.

My wife and I used to love the original recipe. We do not like the new recipe with more olive oil. It is "over spiced" and has totally changed the flavor. I used to use the Traditional recipe in many of my Italian dishes and now I will not. Many of your customers are not pleased with this change. Please bring back the original recipe. The rich flavor it has is delicious and makes your favorite dishes come out tasting good. I like the texture of this sauce because you don't need big amounts when cooking a large dish with this sauce. Overall its a great sauce and even better in the traditional spaghetti.

I really like the taste of this brand. It doesn't taste sugary or extra salty comparing to other brands. The texture is great and just the right thickness. My kids loves it as well. I like it has fewer calories. We use it for pasta, pizza sauce or soup base so it's very versatile.

The sauce recipe from before olive oil was added was my autistic wife's last safe food. She cries every day because of it. Our quality of life has declined significantly. It used to be a staple in our house. Now it is a source of emotional turmoil. Terrible

I have reflux and I've recently "rediscovered" Ragu Traditional Sauce because it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects on my throat. I grew up in NY eating homemade sauce (gravy) with meatballs, sausage, braciole, all made by old school Italians. When my college roommate's dad used to drive hours to bring us groceries every month, multiple bottles of Ragu were always included. While this sauce is clearly not the same as homemade - we grew to love it served over capellini with sautéed mushrooms & fresh grated parmesan. Yes, it's slightly sweet and doesn't have a thick consistency like other bottled sauces, but that's the beauty (and the simplicity) of it. Years later, I see that it's still affordable and it tastes exactly as it always did...
