It's not the menthol stuff we remember grandma using - this is a true topical potent pain reliever without the heat or stink. Because it's a pain reliever, it can not be applied too frequently or over large areas, so read the instructions first and use it sparingly. It works really well, so I feel the value is good for pretty strong temporary pain relief. However, I do wish there was a lot more in the tube! The tube is much smaller than the box, and there is a lot of air in the tube.

Spoiler alert: I did not achieve that level of athletic enthusiasm. Was it helpful? Yes. Did it erase 20 years of “why did I sleep like a pretzel” pain? No. It was more like, “Hey buddy, I’ll dull that ache so you can stand up without making sound effects.” The smell is mild, the relief is decent, and it didn’t set my skin on fire — which is honestly a win in the ointment world. But if you’re expecting instant magic, you may still walk like you lost a fight with a staircase. Still, 3 stars because it did something, and at this point, I’ll take “something.”

I did get and alcohol smell when first applied but it goes away and leaves a lite scent I can’t name but it’s mild and good.
