It can be used 4 times a day for up to two body areas. It does state that it can not be used on the back, hip or shoulder areas. It does not have a strong smell. It is very powerful.

The volatren gel goes on easily and has helped reduce the inflammation in my knees to keep my going. I’ve been really impressed and never thought of this for athletic assistance!

I used it for knee discomfort and it worked but it wasn’t rapid. However it doesn’t claim to be. The cool sensation of the gel helped alleviate some of the discomfort and it was night and lightweight so it doesn’t leave a heavy film on the area. It also smells nice. I’m used to the minty medicated smell. It comes in a great package that has a cool safety feature when you first open it, but is not hard to open for those with hand pain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a small tube of voltran to test, it is a topical gel aimed at relieving arthritis pain. It is a NSAID so be wary if you have any allergies. Its use is aimed at small areas that are commonly afflicted with arthritis, hands, ankles, knees etc. Not back or hips. The instructions are very detailed for use and should easily answer most of your questions. There is also a dosing card in the box, it was stuck to the inside with a bit of glue tack so double check you remove it before throwing the box away. I almost missed and threw it out with the box so it might be better if it was just put in the box loose rather than attached. As a pain reliever it worked fairly well. I tend to keep things like this handy for my ankle when it acts up. The gel was easy to apply and seemed to absorb well, as long as you follow the dosing chart it didn't feel like it left anything overly greasy on my skin. My issues with my ankle are fairly mild so I only use this when it is at its worst and it does a good job at relieving that pain so I can go about my day without too much issue.

The gel absorbs quickly and gives noticeable relief for arthritis aches, especially in hands and knees. A must-have for anyone dealing with daily joint pain.

More importantly, I didn’t feel the cream did a lot to improve my stiff knee. Possibly had a slight numbing effect or cooling effect. I likely won’t buy this product in future.

It's a good pain reliever but the size is small. It works just as well as previous ones that I have used. Pain relief for a couple of hours. The generic version from the drugstore works the same for less.
