Great deal!

I purchased the old fashioned oats and the quick oats in the same online order for shipping. The quick oats arrived with other items in a box and it was all fine. The old fashioned oats were shipped later all by themselves with just a shipping label slapped on the box and arrived very damaged. I can't believe they don't put the oatmeal box in another box to ship it so it arrives intact. Never again!

Quaker Oats

Oats do not cook up like they use to, they stay separated and chewy. I don't like mushy oatmeal, but I don't like this mess at all either. No matter how long you cook them on the stove, they remain this way, like something is preventing them from absorbing the water they should. Will use the rest for my bird suet.

Who doesn't like healthy competition? When Sam's Club started selling their brand of oats, Quaker had to cut the fat and reduce their inflated price within a month. It works out fine for me since Quaker is my personal preference. The quality of Quaker Oats is superior, especially when making actual oatmeal. The texture is consistently smooth and creamy, and the rich, wholesome flavor is unmatched by the store brand. Thank God for Sam's Club for forcing Quaker to lower their prices, which were inexplicably still at pandemic highs.

I'm not sure how oats can be defective, but these don't cook up like any oats I've ever purchased. I cooked them in the microwave like any old-fashioned oats I've ever purchased, and they are still like hard oats sitting in water after three minutes of microwaving. I certainly wouldn't buy these again.
