Old Fashioned Oats are no longer edible

I'm so disappointed in the Old Fashioned Quaker Oats. I just bought a new box. They are tough, hard, never soften. I even soak them in water for 5-10min before I cook them on the stove and they are still tough to chew. I appears I'm not the only one. I will be returning the box to the store. Don't know why the sudden change in quality but I hope Quaker Oats is looking into what's changed. They say it hasn't changed but they have not eaten the product we buy. I've been a customer for years and the last year or so have oatmeal every morning I go through a lot of oatmeal. This box was a dramatic change for the worse. Expiration date is 3/2027 and this is Nov 2025

Not the Oatmeal I know.

I've eaten Quaker Oats for many years. This last box does not cook correctly. I heated over & over to get it to soften. The oats stayed in shape & never softened. I ate some & the oats stuck in my teeth. It was the craziest thing. I'm not sure I'll buy another box. I may Google good oatmeal to buy.

No Longer Available at Local Sam's Clubs

This is a great product at an excellent price, and it is one of the main reasons I renewed my Sam's Club membership this year. Unfortunately, Sam's is no longer selling the Quaker Old Fashioned Oats in their local clubs; instead they are now selling the Quaker Quick One Minute Oats and raised the price by five dollars to $12.98.

Don't have it shipped!

I purchased the old fashioned oats and the quick oats in the same online order for shipping. The quick oats arrived with other items in a box and it was all fine. The old fashioned oats were shipped later all by themselves with just a shipping label slapped on the box and arrived very damaged. I can't believe they don't put the oatmeal box in another box to ship it so it arrives intact. Never again!

Oatmeal challenge
5 out of 5 stars review

30 or 90 day challenge 100% correct

I was always skeptical of the Quaker Oats challenge of eating oatmeal every morning for 30 to lower cholesterol. I am a 62 year old diabetic male, my cholesterol levels at least 2 out of 3 parts for several years. So I decided I didn't have any thing to lose so I did it. My blood work is done every 3 months so I started with my 90 day period. I am a 100% believer . I can't vouch for this challenge enough. If you have a problem with controlling your cholesterol then you have nothing to lose and very simple to do.

Still good, but pay attention to the label

Tastes the same as when we were young, except now we no longer sweeten it...just add fruit & cinnamon. If they have made changes to their formula, so be it. As long as that change is not a detriment to our health or the environment. For those complaining about their 1st world problem; You should note that the label will show either "whole grain ROLLED oats" or just "whole grain oats". That makes a difference in the cooking results.t matter.

Frustrated!

We love this oatmeal. Microwave easy. I set it at 3 minutes and 40 seconds and it is perfect! Really Economical. I gave a 3 star simply because I am worn out of going to Sam's and spending 250 dollars and not any Quaker Old Fashioned Oatmeal on the shelf. Why would I come home and spend $50 to get free shipping when all I need is my oatmeal. Frustrated to no end over the change in shipping!

No longer edible.

I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast for years. Quaker used to be the gold standard. However, that's no longer the case. I recently bought a 10 lb box at a warehouse club and these oats are not edible. They remain hard and do not absorb water no matter how much water I use or how long I microwave them. There is something not right about these. I will not purchase again.

Great baking flour too!

Not just for breakfast. Turn into flour and add to baked bread or cookies for fiber.
