Has this product changed

I have been using the regular quaker oats for years and recently purchased a carton of "Old Fashioned" Quaker oats. This product appears different in texture to the product I have used for over 50 years. Am I imagining this or have you just introduced "Old Fashioned.

Quaker old fashioned oat are awesome

I love quaker old fashioned oats I eat them daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and or a snack. I eat them with fruit, spices, and or with savory items. My favorite is with fresh cramberries cooked right in with the oatmeal with spices and or with egg whites mixxed in with oatmeal and hot sauce. I eat them any way sweetness and or savory. I lost 125 pounds and with enjoying this this has helped me!!!

Not the same

I have been eating this Oatmeal since I was a kid. Always a breakfast favorite. No more! The oats never absorb the water, they are no longer creamy but soupy. The taste is awful, tastes soapy or like chemicals. Listen to all the other reviews stating the same things! Fix your product.

I love the versatility

I love the versatility of Quaker old fashioned oats. I use them in recipes that call for oats. I also cook them and add seeds, fruits and nuts to them for a healthy breakfast or snack. I love the health benefits that come with eating them. They are a staple in my home.

Needs 2 eggs, not 1

The cookies completely crumbled after cooking, I suspect it is a problem with the recipe. It calls for only 1 egg, but if you read the recipe on the inside of the Quaker oats box, it calls for 2 eggs. That may what would provides the extra moisture and the right texture.

I’m on an overnight

I’m on an overnight oat kick as I like oatmeal as it’s not greasy and good for you. Can add whatever you want for flavor-Vanilla almond milk, cinnamon, blueberries, etc. Has 150 calories for 1/2 cup. Four stars as can buy generic for cheaper and it’s the same stuff. Same nutrition and ingredient as the “overnight” kind-what is difference besides price?

oats

Quaker, Old Fashioned Oatmeal is an excellent breakfast option that is both nutritious and satisfying. Due to its fiber content Quaker, Old Fashioned Oatmeal is also very filling. One serving of this product provides 4 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber.

These are some versatile

These are some versatile oats. You can cook them and make traditional oatmeal, you can grind them up and make oat flour to substitute for those people needing to be gluten-free, you can make overnight oats with them, you can make granola with them. The possibilities are endless. And the price is right too.

Shell-like Pieces Mixed Into the Oats

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, though I'm not sure how you couldn't, but there are shell-like pieces mixed into the oats. I'm guessing it's the outer layer of the grain, the bran, that gets roasted with the rest of the grains. They become hard and just ruins the experience when eating it. You can't just chew through them...they're hard like the outer shell of a popcorn kernel that gets left behind after cooking it. I like to eat oatmeal because of the health benefits, but this is the most horrible thing for me...eating something that's supposed to be soft and mushy and biting into something hard and unchewable...makes me want to gag and throw up. I want to switch brands but none of the grocery stores in my area carry any other brands.

Use in cooking many dishes

I love the texture of the Old Fashioned Quaker Oats for breakfast, I add Cinnamon, Walnuts & Dried Cherries to the water & when it comes to a boil, I add the oats & cook the recommended time. Add a little brown sugar, banana slices & skim milk & you've got a delicious breakfast that sticks to your ribs! I also use oats in meatloaf.
