My "secret" recipe - very best old fashioned oats

I eat Quaker Old Fashioned Oats every morning for breakfast. I use one half cup of brewed green tea for the liquid in a microwavable bowl. Add: one-half sliced banana, cocoa, four prunes, walnut pieces or almonds, cinnamon, sweetener, coconut oil. Microwave for 90 seconds. THEN add 3/4 cup oats, stir and zap for 18 to 30 seconds as desired from your experiences. Product will be chewy and will hold heat well. BEST EVER. ENJOY.

I really enjoy this

I really enjoy this product as well as the 1 minute instant oatmeal. I use this in my kids smoothies to bulk them up and make them more of a meal. Oatmeal is loaded with fiber and potassium also iron so its amazing as a morning pick me up. Also just as a nice in a bowl of oatmeal too!

Not the Same Oatmeal...chewy rather than creamy

I have eaten SO MUCH (QUAKER OLD-FASHIONED) OATMEAL over decades. We definitely noticed a change in the last few months. When looking into it, there are many noticing the change as well, and complaining. It is all about the chewy, off-putting texture. No more creamy goodness. I guess it is time to find a new oatmeal.

Only Oatmeal I use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Quaker Oatmeal all my life. I am 55 years old and find many uses for Quaker Oatmeal in my everyday cooking. I use it in cookies, casseroles, even in my baking recipes as well as by it's self as a breakfast cereal. I will not use anything else.

Can go wrong with

Can go wrong with good old fashion oats. These oats allow me to make my own flavors of oatmeal. You can even use the oats for your skin. The make a good hair or face mask. When I eat them I like to add vanilla and cinnamon and either apples or banana depending on what I have in my fridge

Have enjoyed Quaker Oats

Have enjoyed Quaker Oats old fashioned since I was a kid. I am Filipino and my mom didn’t feed me oatmeal for breakfast. I didn’t learn that until I went away to college. I like homemade oatmeal cookies and warm oatmeal with a little milk, dried fruits, and nuts. Overnight oats is a great weekday breakfast. Change the toppings for different flavors. Great stuff.

When oats take wing!

I grew up on Quaker Oats, but today I opened two sealed cartons and from each one flew a swarm of happy, healthy moths - about 30 or 40. To be completely fair, the boxes were past expiration, but we've had moths in our cupboard for the last several months, since the boxes were new. At least now we've pinned down where they came from. I unwittingly finished those other cartons, by the way (yummy!). I saw on line that others have had the same issue. I'm sure these little guys are the bane of Quaker and Pepsico, and I feel sympathy for the people who have to deal with this. I'm not squeamish, but my oatmeal days are over. Just thought you should know.

Quaker, The Real Oatmeal

For years, the old fashioned oats are the only ones that I buy. Yes at one time I did try the instant and the quick oatmeal when my children were young. They just didn't have the flavor and the texture that comes with the old fashioned oats. I guess it's the high amount of fiber you get with the old fashioned oats. I really enjoy them. You can add almost anything that you like to it. Fresh fruit, nuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, etc. My favorite is to add chopped fresh pears and cinnamon with a few walnuts or almonds. But as I write this, I think I have many favorites. You can even use it in place of whey to make smoothies! lol

Packaging problem

Hi folks, I am writing to you because the last cardboard tube container of the old fashioned oats has a hole in the bottom. The hole is the size of half a dime and is in the circular cardboard bottom. I still have the container and notice that it has codes imprinted on it: Best Before Feb 29 16 L141 I am certain you get enough bogus complaints. My motivation is to alert you to a manufacturing issue. If you are interested I will make a photo and email. This is not shipment or handling damage. I feel certain that the flaw is part of the creation of the container by the manner it intersects the crimped seam joining it to the main tube. The missing piece of bottom cardboard circle show where it is attached and the seam at the missing piece is undisturbed I discovered the hole when I was almost finished with the contents. Funny, the box was spillling a bit all along and I thought it was my mistake. I purchased at my local Publix grocery store in Atlanta. The cost is low and negligible and has no connection to my comments here. This is a first for me with any produce. It negates the security seal. David L. in Atlanta GA

GMO

I like Quaker Oatmeal both Instant, Steel Cut and Old Fashioned. Have eaten since I was a small child, and found out today it all contains GMO. So I and my family stopped using it. We will use Bob Red Mill Organic Oatmeal. I hope Quaker STOPS using GMO ingredients and USES NON GMO and I will continue to purchase this product. Thank you
