My grandfather ate it religiously every morning for 24 years after he had a heart attack. Mom ate it with my sister and I when we were growing up. One morning when my son was around two years old, I asked him what he wanted for breakfast. He pointed toward the Quaker Oats canister and said, "Grampa Pettys". It didn't compute so I asked again and got the same reply. In the process of clarifying with him that oatmeal was what he meant, I realized that the face on the canister did look like our Grampa Petty. Oatmeal was now referred to as Grampa Pettys in our home. I now have two grandchildren who love oatmeal and call it Grampa Pettys. Additionally, the gazillions of Chocolate Chip cookies that have been made for three generations, starting with my mother, have included oats. Until I was in my teens, I didn't know that not everyone put oats in their Chocolate Chip cookies. My mom's cookies were always the best.

These are my favorite go to oats. Honestly I haven’t tried any others in a long time because Quaker is just “the” brand that I trust. I know they will be good quality and good tasting oats. And I like that they are easy to cook for my kids and me alike.

We have been faithful buyers and consumers of Old Fashion Quaker Oats. In April we purchased in Southern California a large box of the Old Fashion Quaker Oats. It was completely different and completely changed.We returned to South Carolina and found the same problem with a new batch/box we bought. So, this was not just a bad batch we had in California! Quaker Oats Company has changed the Old Fashion Oats! WHY? WHY? We have cooked and prepared the oats exactly the same ways for years. Now the Oats come out gooey and glutenous - all mush. The oats cooks faster almost like instant oats (we know the difference) and it is very upsetting. We must now look around for another brand. It would be very nice to hear from Quaker Oats about what has changed. Why has the company changed this product? It was perfect and indeed "old fashion". WhY? Please tell us. Inge

Love these oats they are good eat these every day they are easy to fix and if you need to have something sweet to eat just add a little more sugar love the packaging it comes in you can also make cookies out of these oats I put the oays in my meat loaf I make I would buy oats again

I like old-fashioned oats. It's a big volume of oats. I make my oats flour and use it for baking. One of my favorite recipes is Italian biscotti with honey and nuts, figs. Cowboys cookies are wonderful too.it more healthy for you to use oats compare with bleach flour.

For years, the old fashioned oats are the only ones that I buy. Yes at one time I did try the instant and the quick oatmeal when my children were young. They just didn't have the flavor and the texture that comes with the old fashioned oats. I guess it's the high amount of fiber you get with the old fashioned oats. I really enjoy them. You can add almost anything that you like to it. Fresh fruit, nuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, etc. My favorite is to add chopped fresh pears and cinnamon with a few walnuts or almonds. But as I write this, I think I have many favorites. You can even use it in place of whey to make smoothies! lol

I ate oatmeal as a kid but after high school in college I started to eat oats as a source of fiber but also because it was expensive. As time passed by the time I left college I was eating oatmeal because I came to love it. I started eating it my own way with honey , blueberries and banana with occasional peanut butter. Even now 50 years later I eat it. Another benefit, I've never been constipated or have hemorrhoids - a direct result of no fiber or ruffage.

We love Quaker Oats Old Fashioned at our house! I have been using them for the past few years to make overnight oats, and they are always perfect! Sometimes I used lowfat milk, and sometimes I use almond milk. I add a little honey, a little Splenda, a little cinnamon, a drop of almond extract, and some fruit, and I put it all in the refrigerator overnight. My whole family loves the finished product, and I feel good knowing we are all getting a good, nutritious start to the day! Thanks for offering a great, healthy product with no artificial preservatives! We will be customers for life!

Absolutely cannot go wrong with the original Quaker Oats. I love my oatmeal almost everyday and this is my go-to. I have tried the store brands as they are a little cheaper. The quality just isn't there. You can see and taste the difference. And, they make the best oatmeal cookies!
