Spice it up.

When I have cooked my bowl of porridge, I love to spice it up. After putting in honey and a little more milk, try adding a pinch of cinnamon, or ginger, or nutmeg or vanilla extract. My favorite however is the seeds from 3 green cardamoms and some nutmeg added after grinding them up in a pestle and mortar. Yum yum!!

Been eating this for decades

Something changed recently. The oats do not absorb water much anymore or become creamy. It cooks more like a soup now. I have been eating this for breakfast for decades and not I am not sure I like it anymore. I even tried putting them in Milk over night and it was still like soup. The creamy oats are gone. What did they do to the oats. Makes me wonder if they are not healthily anymore. Seems like they coated them in something to not allow the oats to absorb moisture. Also I tried baking oatmeal cookies. I had to change the recipe to make the cookies good. The oats are definitely not the same anymore. Before they changed I would have rated them a 5 star.

I use this product for my overnight oats, homemade granola and granola bars, as well as my oatmeal cookies. I prefer the texture and flavor of these full oats. The large sized container lasts a good while and is reasonably priced. Very versatile and flavorful!

Lose weight and lower blood pressure diet

Here is one way I eat Quaker Oats on my lower blood pressure and lose weight diet. I use 1/3-1/2 cup uncooked oats, walnuts, small banana and blueberries/or chopped apple, cinnamon, skim or coconut milk, and half a small container of plain non-fat Greek yogurt. Mix the oats, nuts and milk together and add some cinnamon. Stir. Let sit for about 5 mins. Add the rest and top with a little more cinnamon. Has a lot of vitamins in it for a healthy heart.

The best Cholesterol lowering meal

Have had trouble getting my cholesterol down. It was in the 300's. Took medication for awhile, but that only got it down to 279. Tried other things like niacin and fish oil and flax seed, in various amounts, but it still didn't lower it any lower. I didn't want to remain on medication,so I did some research of what else could help. I saw an article about eating oatmeal in a larger amount and I gave it try. Within one week, my cholesterol was down by 50 points. Woow! Wonderful. I'm eating oatmeal each day and now my cholesterol is below 200. I'm so glad that I did more research and gave this a try. No more medication.

wish it was gluten free

My wife needs gluten free. She makes Red Mill gluten free oatmeal, while I make regular Quaker Old Fashioned Oats. They look and taste the same. What would be so hard about making Quaker's gluten free? Oats are inherently gluten free, right? We prefer the old fashioned over instant, etc.

If you want to eat healthily this is something to incorporate in your diet. Poor some boil water over the dry oats and some milk or almond milk and brown sugar is pretty good. Also it makes pretty good smoothies. For smoothies, add some fruits, milk (almond milk) , and some type of sweetener. I love old fashioned oats because it helps to lower your cholesterol, good vitamins and a way to loose weight.

Tastes why better than

Tastes why better than cereal and is way more healthy than cereal! Oatmeal is my favorite food to have for breakfast! I usually have it with plant-based milk (because regular milk is too high in calories), some cinnamon, sometimes flaxseeds, and a table spoon of nut butter. I definitely recommend old fashioned oats and/or 1 minute quick oats.

I grew up with it.

I grew up with Quaker oats and still eat oats 2-3 times a week. It is probably my favorite breakfast to eat because it is so versatile, I can create so many different tastes with the base of oats, its always fun to try new ingredients. Thank you for being one of Americas best breakfast, for so many years.
