A Taste of Home

My mother has baked Nestle Toll House Cookies for as long as I can remember. They are, in fact, the best tasting cookie I have ever had. I am now 54 years old and when my mother asks what I would like for Christmas I always ask for a batch of Toll House Cookies, It wouldn't be the Holidays without them.

What happened?

For years our family has made a flourless chocolate torte then took a break. Today, I was making one for a potluck. Only I notice that the chips taste different (yes, I can do that) and are not melting in the double boiler. They get to the point of grainy, but never shiny. I google the question and see others have had similar experiences. So my husband is running out for Ghiradelli and I've wasted an hour. Plus, I have to return these. No more Nestle for me as a customer and investor. How much did you think you saved changing the formula? Was it worth these lost customers?

Problem with melting!

I love my Nestle Chips in my desserts that don't require melting first, but I just tried to melt the chips to make Frozen bananas and it was a no go! Since I was desperate to have some melted chocolate, I decided to add some milk to the pan and got it to loosen up to the point I could get my dessert add.

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that you had a problem with your morsels melting. Nestlè Toll House Semi-Sweet Morsels are heat sensitive and have a low melting point. At higher temperatures, the sugar also melts and scorches, which can cause the product to seize, or become grainy and hard to work with. Small amounts of moisture can also cause the morsels to seize; for example, moisture from a wooden spoon or steam from a double boiler. To help correct this, add vegetable or canola oil, 1 teaspoon at a time, up to 4 teaspoons, and stir until you have the correct consistency. We don't recommend using butter, water, or milk. Please expect an email from us soon.,Consumer Engagement Center,Jennifer, clientresponse

good product

this is a good product but the cost is to expensive. I only purchase when on sale. I love to ues on rice krispies treats. I spread them out on top of a tray of treats and place in a 300 degree oven for about 3 to 5 minutes to soften them. Take out of oven and spread the softend chocolate chips all over the top of the treats. Place in refrigerator to cool. When cool I cut the treats. YUM

Terrible!

I've been making fudge for Christmas for the last 47 years with Nestles Toll House Semi Sweet Chips. For the last 3 years I noticed the chips would not melt properly. So I looked it up to see if you have either changed the formula or size of the packages. I saw all these negative reviews and plan to return my four 12 oz packages and try Giaradelli. Hopefully they work better or I will have to try a block of chocolate.

A Life Long Love

My mother used Nestle Toll House Morsels so I followed her example when I began baking. As a child, I baked chocolate chip cookies using the semi-sweet morsels. As an adult, I have tried all the other flavors and love them all. Baking cookies is my favorite thing to do. Nestle is the only brand of baking chips that I use.

'Natural ingredients'

I cannot use these chips until I know EXACTLY what each ingredients that fall under 'natural ingredients' as I am allergic to ALL forms of citric acid which is often used in all types of food as a 'natural' preservative or for a sour kick if added in large amounts as in sour candy. Does anyone know if these contain citric acid? I do not like companies lumping ingredients together under 'natural ingredients'. I have a lot of food allergies that are not typical. This is why I have to cook myself so that I know exactly what's in my food. Nestle please list ALL ingredients whether they are 'natural' or not. I really had to select a star rating. The rating is only based on not knowing ALL ingredients. I don't remember Nestle adding 'natural ingredients' on the bag. Thank you... Waiting to cook

Perfect for after school snacks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made chocolate muffins for after school snacks with my Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels. They are so full of delicious chocolate that the kids love them. They don't need much sugar which makes me happy. Win win!

Just the right touch!

Everybody knows Nestle chocolate chip morsels makes the very best chocolate chip cookies. But, I also add them to brownie mixes for that extra punch of ooey gooey goodness. In the morning I'll add them to my oatmeal, cereal or even my waffle. In the afternoon I'll top my coffee with a little cream whip and top that with a few chips, who needs a fancy barista! Whenever I want a little bit of chocolatey goodness, Nestle chocolate chips are the right touch.

The best for baking

My family and I have been enjoying Nestle Toll House morsels for years and years. I use the recipe provided on the back for baking my chocolate chip cookies (modified slightly) and I can't keep the cookies in the jar, usually they don't even make it of my cookie rack to containers. I have tried store brands and there is no comparison to the smoothness of the chocolate. We love them!
