For Cookies, Not For Melting?

Customers at my store are complaining the chips won't melt for their candy making efforts anymore as they did in past years. Have you made changes that reduce the cocoa butter percentage or altered your ingredients to favor retention of chip shape (as for chocolate chip cookies)?

I loved the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the morsels to try out a new recipe. I made Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Bars and they were absolutely delicious. The chips were creamy and added just the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely use the chips in this recipe again:)

Something has changed

I hadn't used these in awhile. I was buying whatever store brand was cheap or on sale. I scooped up these morsels on sale. I could tell immediately that my chocolate chip cookies looked different out of the oven and they even left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. I'll be going back to store brands.

New Creamier Version is Terrible

My wife made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and they were a little off to say the least. After further analyzing the taste, they simply did not have enough chocolate flavor and were bland. We looked at the bag which stated "now richer and creamier". Now I was suspicious of the chocolate chips and tried some (I've eaten them straight as a treat since I was a child so I know what they're supposed to taste like). The texture and flavor were not nearly as good as the old recipe. Please bring back the old recipe, these are terrible. Until you do, I'm going to have to use another brand.

Poor performance

I have been baking for 20 plus years and know how to melt chocolate chips. These however do not melt properly in the microwave so instead of getting a nice glossy liquid to put over my bars I end up with a dry, grainy mess. The only rescue is adding shortening which should not have to be done when the proper technique is used in the first place. Something is seriously wrong here, please please fix it. Taste is ok but texture is grainy. If Hershey's can get it right, so can you.

won't melt!

I have been using these since I was a teen and making cookies and they definitely have changed. This morning I made a batch of brownies to take to the office and when they came out of the oven, I sprinkled a half bag of chips on top and covered the pan so they would melt and could be spread. 5 minutes later, they were still hard - a bit soft at the edges but not spreadable. After 8 minutes, I picked them off and put them in the microwave with some light corn syrup. They softened, but were not really spreadable. I have always used them in this way. What has happened to them????

pretty consistent quality

Results are always great using this product. Being a baker for decades, have never strayed far from Nestle', but is very hard to find large bags of morsels outside of holiday time and even then, you have to search them out! Bring the chocolate/white swirl chip back - those were terrific! Know it's hard in the heat of the desert to keep chocolate from blooming and have had the odd issue with melting, but still the #1 chocolate chip in our home. Prices seem to be getting increased a lot each year and the boxes of squares should still be the larger size!!

I would buy this product again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these morsels in cookies, biscotti, brownies and in chocolate glazes and icings. The taste and quality are excellent. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.

Best Fudge

I make the best fudge with Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels and Marshmallow Fluff. It is an old time favorite, but I eliminate any nuts and add Heath Bar crumbles to the top, while still warm. Just pat down with wax paper and try to let cool before enjoying.

A Naughty Necessity

I always have a couple of bags of chocolate chips hidden in the fridge to sneak a handful at a time. I have many sweet teeth to feed. Also, have been loving the "Brownies & More" and the "Blondies & More". I made them and took them to a 1st Birthday/Halloween party. Everyone loved them and asked me what kind to buy. I said Nestle!!
