I've ALWAYS used Nestle chips. I've made chocolate covered peanut butter balls at Christmas for years. Always melt the chips in my double boiler and dunk them in there. Then refrigerate. Usually when I take them out of the refrigerator & put on a tray for parties they're fine for a long time. This year the chocolate got soft after just a few minutes! Very disappointing!

The morsels not only make some of the best chocolate chip cookies, but you can melt them to dip cookies of all kinds in to fancy cookies, use them to dip berries, nuts, and pretzels. Add them into your popcorn, sprinkle on ice cream, use in trail mix, make a lovely ganache, the possibilities are limitless.

Something has definitely changed with these semi-sweet chips. I have used the same recipes for almost 40 years. This year every recipe that I used semi-sweet chips in was ruined. They will not melt and leave a grainy texture. There are little black chunks throughout and the taste of the finished product is different. I am very disappointed with Nestle and wonder if this is something you are trying to fix. I am very disappointed that I will not be able to give candy trays for the holidays. I am out a lot of money for all of the wasted ingredients in all of my recipes.

Besides the original Toll House cookie, one of my favorite and easy ways to enjoy Nestle Chocolate morsels is to melt equal parts semi-sweet, milk and premier white with roasted nuts (I like peanuts or almonds best). Using a small ice cream scoop, place the mixture in mini cupcake liners and allow to cool, then refrigerate. YUM!

I love the way those chocolate chips melt into whatever you want and give just the perfect taste to every dessert. From scones to monkey bread, oh my, it never fails to wow. I used to be a big fan of cookies made with Nestle chocolate chips, and I'd occasionally eat a few chips directly from the bag for a chocolate snack. Now I won't eat the chips or the cookies as, to my taste, the chips have an unappealing, slightly coconut-oil flavor that they never used to have. I've just noticed this new taste over the last year or so. It is evident to me from tasting the chips themselves, as well as in the taste of cookies made by others who have used Nestle chips. Hoping Nestle can rectify this.

The semi sweet chocolate chips are great tasting. The recipe always comes out just right. I would not choose any other chocolate chip company for my family. I have tried others and they come out hard. With Nestle Chocolate Chips they turn out perfect. I will always buy this brand.
