the best fudge ever that I made was with Nestle Toll House semi-sweet choc morsels and / or the butterscotch, or mint flavored morsels. Mix a package of morsels with a can of choc frosting - melt together and pour in a 8x8 pan and refrigerate til harden and then cut into pieces. Simple and really good.

What gives? I've used Nestle chocolate chips for years and never had this problem before! I made a pan of toffee bars (shortbread base and then melted chocolate chip topping, sprinkled with nuts). Bake the base, then sprinkle evenly w/ the chips, back in the oven to melt the chips for 3 min., take out and smooth the supposedly melted chips into a smooth frosting and top w/ nuts. Simple, right? Definitely not this time!! I've ended up w/ unmelted chip blobs, a now overbaked base because I had it back in the oven for a total of 7 min. in an attempt to melt them and wouldn't you know these were to be for my nieces's bridal shower!! And I do not have the ingredients nor the time to bake another pan of toffee bars--GRRRR!!! Nestle's chocolate chips DID NOT make my day today!!! The last time I'll buy Nestle chocolate chips!!

I take the basic original recipe and doctor it up. I only use a 1/4 of cup of both sugars and add chopped up pieces of candy plus the chocolate chips,and I add butterscotch and white chocolate chips as well. Then add this all to the flour mix by folding in all the candy and chips and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool on a rack .

I bake all the time for family and friends and ONLY use NESTLES chocolate morsels. My husband and 3 sons especially enjoy the "LIMITED EDITION" holiday varieties that you have every year. I stock up as soon as I see them in the store. Can't wait to see the varieties you have this year! Thank you NESTLES......have a wonderful holiday season!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to make semi-sweet fruit and nut bark as a "healthy" treat. I love how easily and smoothly Nestle's semi-sweet chips melt to make this bark. It gives the dessert such a rich flavor. Everyone in my family loves this bark. I also love to bake chocolate chip cookies with browned butter in place of regular butter. The flavor is out of this world paired with semi-sweet chocolate chips and the nuttiness of the browned butter.

I've always used nestle semi sweet chips to make chocolate covered strawberries. However this year I've found the chips don't melt fully, leaving small bits that cling to the strawberries and look terrible. The chips now scorch quickly in the microwave (even after only 45 seconds and stirring part way through). They don't melt completely in a double boiler; adding shortening improves the consistency but doesn't help with the unmelted bits. I've used nestle chips for 20 years and just can't any longer.

My husband likes nuts and I a less a fan, so I will make half with pecans and half without. The recipe that is on every bag of Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels is always perfect. My latest batch of Toll House Cookies I portioned the dough out with a small scoop and then froze them on a sheet pan with parchment paper. Now I can just pop the cookies in a 375 degree oven for hot cookies whenever I'm in the mood. As the dough is colder, the cookies don't spread as much, which is perfect for dunking in milk. Nestle semi sweet chips are the key ingredient to making the best cookies. I have tried other brands and they just don't taste the same if you don't use the Nestle. All the bakers in my family have used them for generations to make the good old classic chocolate chip cookie. Some things should never change.

I bake at least once a week and always have chocolate morsels on hand. Because I'm price conscious, I have occasionally purchased other brands than Nestle, including store brands which have a retail price that's always less than name brands. But in the end, I always go back to Nestle because I've yet to find any other baking chips that have the freshness, quality, and taste that compares to Nestle. Nestle morsels taste like quality, rich semi-sweet chocolate. The chips always taste and look fresh, unlike other brands I've purchased that sometimes have both a chalky appearance and lack-luster taste. Nestle morsels are consistently uniform in their appearance from their flat bottoms to their pointed tips. I've found that Nestle morsels also melt easier and are less likely to seize than other brands. In my mind, there is simply no substitute for Nestle morsels if you're baking any type of cookie or bar that calls for chocolate chips. Because I'm price conscious, I wait until my stores are having sales on Nestle and then I'll purchase several bags at a time. That ensures I'm buying the best morsels at a price that's at least equal to or even less than other brands. My only critique is that I hardly ever see or find coupons for Nestle morsels. Even if coupons are not offered in a Sunday paper or magazine insert, it would be nice to see them occasionally in the Nestle Very Best Baking emails.
