When I make my grandmother's recipe for Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies my family says the cookies taste just like hers. One time, I used a different brand of chocolate chips and the family complained and complained the cookies did not taste right. I never did that again. Only Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels in our house!!

Grabbed seven morsels to line out and eat one by one. They felt different in my hand, less heft? Smaller? Popped one onto my tongue, it tasted watery, where's the chocolate kick? Popped all six remaining and let them melt on my tongue. Uh oh! Not ok, same watered down taste. Bag says "Now richer and creamier, Our original taste!" Double uh oh! No wonder my wife's cookies tasted bland. I would pay more for the return of quality.

I grew up using these in cookies, and now (many years later!) share the joy of these fabulous chocolate chips with my grandchildren. Whenever they are over they look in the pantry for these iconic chocolate chips and ask if we can make cookies. Wouldn't be without them!

Chocolate Chip Cookies cannot be made without Nestle Chocolate Chips! A well-rounded supply is in my pantry, available for baking (or just a scoop to mouth) as needed. Dark Chocolate has become the new favorite, and a blend of Dark Chocolate and a second Chip of choice is awesome too!

My family calls for cookies often and they always want chocolate chip. These are the perfect morsels for the very particular tastes of my family! They strike the most excellent balance between "hold their shape" and "gooey when they're fresh from the oven," so these are the ones I stock up on every time. Also, my kitchen always has a small canister of morsels off to the side for a little chocolate pick-me-up every now and then!

Have used them to bake tollhouse chocolate chip cookies since I was a little girl - nothing else in the world compares to a freshly baked tollhouse chocolate chip cookie!! Asked Swiss friends (we are expats now) what to bring for Christmas dinner and that's what they asked for!!

My kids are all grown up and so are my 9 grandchildren but they all come and the first thing they go to the cookie jar there better be Nestle cookies in there if not they have no trouble to get baking them before lone the cookie jar is full. Good kids.

As I can see from so many of these reviews, I'm not going nuts either! I don't bake now as much as I used to, and every time I've tried to make recipes that were wonderful (once upon a time) lately, I thought it was me! That I was somehow not making them right. I always blame myself first. I made some toll house cookies today. Yuck. What a waste of time and materials (and $). Won't be making them with Nestle's morsels any more. This is the first time since Christmas that I've tried using them in a recipe. I thought I must have made some kind of mistake then as well, and as a result, haven't been especially inspired to try again. They have changed. They are not at all the same product we used to rely on. What a darn shame. Their taste and texture are totally different. If you've done this to cut corners, you're making a mistake! If keeping them the same means they're more expensive - most people would probably gladly pay a bit more for the quality we've come to rely upon. If I could have given them less than one star - I would have! How could you?

I noticed something different with the semi-sweet morsels as far back as last January but thought it was something I did wrong and simply ignored it; I mostly use the chips throughout the year to make cookies. Except for Christmas. I use about ten large bags for various fudge, almond roca and other candies to give away as gifts. I just made the almond roca to take to a party but the chips never melted, it was horrible as I didn't have time to re-make them. I was embarrassed to say the least, they looked so terrible. My request is to return to the original recipe or add a product line that gives me what I need. I just went to the store and bought some Baker's semi-sweet squares because I know they melt, i've got a lot of baking left to do!

When I was a kid my mother made Toll House cookies on a regular basis. Now with the internet replacing cookbooks ideas are rampant ! Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, aka chocolate chips are still a staple in my pantry & on those days your Mother told you about, just pop a few & things will be better -- no need to cook :-)
