Won't melt !!!!

I thought I was the only one but I see a lot of other reviews where the chips just won't melt !!!! I've recently made a batch of chocolate chip muffins and the chips didn't melt - they remained exactly the same shape in the batter only got a little "crumbly" and tasted weird. So I'm off to find a different brand of chocolate chips .... dissapointed.

An old favorite

I'll give an old experience here. When my daughter was a baby, think the beginning Christmas 1973, I made these. I didn't overbake them as I remember and they looked like maybe the picture on the bag. My grandmother probably never made them but when she tasted them said they were good, not sure exactly what she said. I just think for the first time they were great.

Big Fan

I am a big fan of Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels. I used the sample that I received to make Nestle Toll House Famous Fudge. The morsels melted easily. The fudge was creamy with just enough chocolate. I definitely would recommend this product to friends and family. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.

Exactly what I expect from Nestle Toll House!

When I make chocolate chip cookies I ALWAYS use Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet chocolate morsels. I will not settle for anything else. I always know that I can expect the exact same quality from these. I also use the recipe on the back of the package and get the same, consistent results every time.

Oh Come On Nestle

I just can't win with you guys. After years of buying your refrigerated cookie dough I ultimately had to stop because your new "improved" recipe tastes absolutely horrendous. And when I decided to try making my own homemade cookies for the first time in months, I find that even your morsels have changed for the worse. Why did you feel the need to change every recipe, and why do you still try and claim they are improved when you have many customers stating otherwise? You guys really let me down, I'm going back to store brand for everything cookie related.

Not melting!

I have a brownie recipe I have made for years. I finish with sprinkling Nestle toll house chips, putting the pan back in the oven (after turning it off), for a few minutes, the chips used to melt and I spread to make a frosting, The last two times I made these, this no longer works. I ripped the brownies up trying to spread the (not) melted chips. Putting them back in oven longer just dries the brownies out. This has been a no fail, easy frosting for decades that doesn't work anymore. What changed?

never fail consistent perfect morsels

I love that I can count on Nestle for consistently good quality morsels for baking. Semi-sweet are a great go to most cookies because they add that great chocolate but aren't so sweet they make your teeth hurt. My biggest problem is keeping the family out of the bag so I have them to make treats.

I buy Nestle Toll House Morsels all the time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These morsels are a great product. They have a perfect amount of sweet and bitter qualities, and are better than many other brands like Hershey's morsels. They melt well and also hold there chip shape when you desire that shape, like for choc chip cookies.

Something Is Not Right

I have eaten 1-2 lbs of Nestle chocolate chips per week for most of my life! Friends and relatives have always made fun of me. But at some nondescript time, within the past couple of years...your chocolate chips stopped tasting the same and I no longer even like them. I don't finish eating a bag in a month, don't make chocolate chip cookies anymore. It seems to coordinate with the change of your bags. If you haven't changed the recipe (which I find extremely difficult to believe,) perhaps you should be addressing the interaction of the bag type on your product. Please do something and fix this! You have lost one of your most avid customers!

Something's changed

I have preferentially used Nestles chips for years, so much so that I have currently been buying them in the 36 oz bags, since I use one or more of these large bags per batch of cookies/brownies/etc. [example code: BEST BY END APR2019 70915748 1 1 09:49]. Over the past couple of months, I have found (like others recently writing reviews here) that the chips do not melt as they previously did and that they have a different taste. The taste and eating sensation seem to have changed to be more like the flavorless, bitter survival chocolate bars than the creamy, easily melting chocolate present up to last Nov? Dec? I'm unsure whether this reflects the quality (or type?) of chocolate going into the product or something about its manufacture. Until it reverts, I'll be auditioning new chips for a replacement.
