- 5 out of 5 stars review11/1/2017I use Nestlé's Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels for everything; baking, sprinkling on puddings and cupcakes but my guilty pleasure is just reaching into the bottom bin of my refrigerator and grabbing a handful of the morsels and popping them into my mouth. My treat for doing something I didn't want to do around the house or finishing a difficult chore; nothing more, nothing less than divine for my tongue!
Guilty Pleasure

It's a grainy, tasteless substitute, and you should be ashamed. What ever happened to taking pride in delivering a delicious product and valuing the experience of your customers? Everything is about your profit margin now, so degrade the product. Substandard is good enough for the unwashed masses, your crude customer base, right?
Greed and utter contempt for your customers.

Then me making them for my children and grandchildren. I wouldn't use anything but Nestle brand, because I want perfection every time. Baking is love ❤️

Karin54Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/27/2024I made chocolate chip cookies with these semi sweet chips. They were the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever made! The chips are so much better than before I don't know what change was made but it's a great change. I brought them to a party and everyone was telling me they were decadent #freechocolatechips
This is decadent
MalOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/23/2024The Nestle semi-sweet morsels are the gold standard for chocolate chips. They make any recipe taste better without being overly sweet. am known for my banana bread and I always tell people that the secret ingredient is the Nestle semi-sweet morsels! I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.
The best there is!
ChellOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017The semi-sweet morsels make the BEST! homemade chocolate chip cookies ever! I grew up with my mom making them for me and now I make them for my kids. You can make all kind of different sweet treats with them that with melt in your mouth, but the chocolate chip cookies are my personal favorites.
The BEST!
ger9695Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/13/2016I bought two bags but now I will return this one and get a different brand. Last year I called and begged them to put the formula back to what it used to be! They obviously didn't! After 40 years of making the same recipe, I can no longer use Nestle's...so disappointing!
So glad I'm not the only one!

First I thought it was just an anomaly, but I've made multiple batches for Thanksgiving and Christmas all unfortunately with the same results. I'm disappointed. Your classic cookie has been altered and not for the better.
New Recipe for Semi-sweet Morsels?
CookieMaker33Originally posted onverybestbaking.comverybestbakingpwrWe apologize your Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies didn't turn out as you expected and we would like to learn more about you... - 5 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017I have used Nestle Tool House Chocolate Chips since I was a little girl learning to bake. They make the best Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. I use them in my Cowboy Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies and when I need melted Chocolate for dipping. I have tried other brands, but always come back to Nestle.
Excellent Chocolate Chips
mktgyrOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 2 out of 5 stars review12/22/2017Tried melting full bag of butterscotch bits and 1/2 bag chocolate semi-sweet like I do every year making Special K bars. I used a double boiler like always and it dried out into a big dry lump. Tried again in batches in microwave and was successful. Microwave is much more intense heat so should give warning to old bakers that they need to use the modern appliances. The old required method does not work anymore. Very disappointed I wasted so much.
not same ingredients as old Nestle
JawjamOriginally posted onverybestbaking.comverybestbakingpwrWe're sorry to hear that the morsels didn't melt properly with your double broiler. We haven't made any changes to the recipe... - 5 out of 5 stars review2/13/2024I used this bag of semi sweet chocolate chips to make the traditional chocolate chip cookies recipe printed on the package. They taste fabulous. They are rich and creamy and melt in your mouth. #ad I received this product for free for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
Wonderful chocolate chips
RamonaROriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review4/26/2016I wanted to know the percent of cocoa used in the chips and saw all these negative reviews. I had an older bag in my freezer. I put a handful of my older chips on the counter and a handful of my new 72 oz. bag on the counter......I couldn't believe the visual difference. The new chips have a white.ish coating on them. I took a pic. I don't know if you can see it very well but my first thought was: HOW MUCH MONEY IS ENOUGH.....HOW MUCH MONEY DO CORPORATIONS NEED BEFORE THEY ARE SATISFIED & STOP JEOPARDIZING THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. SAD...SAD...SAD. You just lost a customer. You know the saying, "bad experience ...tell 20 friends ....good experience tell 5 friends"
SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED
TerrriOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017Love these morsels. They never disappoint and are the crucial ingredient in my favorite chocolate chip cookies. They also melt so nicely for chocolate covered desserts. No reason to over spend on expensive chocolates when these modestly priced morsels will the job deliciously!
Timeless Classic
abz79Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/14/2019I've been making buckeyes for 30 years and the past 2 possibly 3 years they've been ruined. After seeing your reviews, I now believe it is because your morsels are not melting right. I don't know how they are for cookies but I will never use them again for melting. And no, I'm not a novice or an expert, I bake for my family for over 30 years.
semi-sweet chocolate morsels
snowiteduvOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017We were recently in Florida and had a craving for chocolate chip cookies. My sister and I went to the store and purchased the ingredients and went home and started baking. We baked a few cookies at a time so we could enjoy hot cookies straight from the oven. I enjoy using all the chips available. I bake Oatmeal Skotchies, Chocolate cookies with the white chips, Peanut Butter chips in white or chocolate cookies. I will use them all and try anything at least once.
Just Needed a Chocolate Chip Cookie
1 GramsOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/25/2024I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own. I had been wanting to try out a 4 ingredient bar cookie recipe I saw on Pinterest. What better way than to try it with a free sample of Nestles Toll Semi-sweet chips. These chips made the recipe! Since it had no added sugar and got it's sweetness from over ripe bananas, the semi-sweet chips gave the bars just right amount of sweetness. At least for my taste buds! Bananas and chocolate together are always a yes in my book.
Semi Sweet Morsels
Grandma BakesOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/11/2024These semi-sweet chocolate chips had a smooth feel in the mouth and the taste was of a rich semi-dark chocolate. It was difficult to not eat too many! They taste great and go down smoothly. NOTE: I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.
I would buy this again! Consistently!
Taste Tester WannabeOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/1/2017Great in Cookies and other baked goods, but my favorite use is making chocolate ganache. It makes a great frosting. While warm, I use it to dip cupcake tops and it forms a shiny smooth coating. Let it cool and then spread a nice fudgy icing. or let cool, then whip it until it is light and fluffy. Easy to pipe. No added sugar, so it is not too sweet. Add flavoring and and roll into truffles. Always have morsels on hand.
Has so many uses.
KupKakeOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 4 out of 5 stars review2/22/2024I used this product to make some Chocolate Chip cookies to share with friends and my fiancée. They came out soft and delicious! The chips are just the right amount of sweetness to make cookies with. Also delicious just to pop in your mouth for a quick treat. I did feel the chips were on the small side as another brand I've used had and I liked. I would buy this product again. I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. Make everyone happy
SkyOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/18/2018I am very disappointed in whatever you did to your semisweet chocolate chip morsels. The after taste in my mouth was very unpleasant. Almost like using a fake sugar substitute yuck. I worked so hard and made two batches for my husband to take to one of his shifts at the fire station and the after taste was so bad he wouldn't take them and said they weren't the same I always made. What was different? I used Nestle brand. I'll tell you I will never buy them again. All that hard work for nothing.
Awful!!
