- 5 out of 5 stars review3/24/2024We all know that is is the gold standard for chocolate chip cookies but my use of them also include flourless chocolate cake. Instead of "chopping up some chocolate" I use a cup full of semi-sweet morsels instead. The result is fantastic! Many who have tried the cake are surprised that I used Nestle Morsels. They don't dissapoint! FYI - I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.
A classic that never fails in new recipes!
KaysinOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/23/2024I have been using these to bake for over 5 decades, have tried others but not as good as Nestle. They melt well and the taste hasn't changed, to this day reminds me of my childhood. They also are great for a quick chocolate fix, a small handful and you are good to go.
Tried and true
Rcc1plc1Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/2/2017Toll house semi-sweet chocolate chips are a kitchen staple in our house. We love chocolate and always choose to bake a recipe that contains these chips. They are also wonderful eaten by themselves as a little chocolate pick me up. I am 52 years old and have eaten these all of my life, no substitutes allowed!
Absolutely delicious
MamavetschOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/7/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent chocolate flavor! Quality is so much better than other chocolate chips! I will use toll house semi sweet chips in all my baking recipes! They added such a perfect chocolate taste to my homemade brownies!
I will buy Toll House Semi Sweet Morsels from now on!
JJOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017these are the best chip to make chocolate chip cookies with. They are so much better than cheaper brands and those others do not have the quality that these do and when making a chocolate chip cookie you want the best in it for the flavor and the taste and texture.
makes best chocolate chip cookies
woolyOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/31/2017Whenever I am going to do some baking, I have to make sure I have Toll House Semi Sweet Chips on hand. My grandkids are huge fans of chocolate chip cookies, and they would not taste the way they do without the Toll House Chips. They are the best and have the best taste.
Best baking chip
andyjeanOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/12/2024I make overnight oats just about every night for my morning breakfast. It has oats, yogurt, Chia seeds, walnuts, milk, and sometimes blueberries. I decided to add some of these chocolate chips to it and additionally, tried the butterscotch chips that I also received in a shipment recently. These chips held up very well as they added flavor and sweetness to my oats. I usually eat them cold out of the refrigerator but this time I microwaved it just a little bit to get the chips melted. That was a very nice addition to my normal breakfast. Hope you try it too! #freeproduct#productreview
Always my #1!
LindaOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/7/2024[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried many chocolate chip cookie recipes, and some have been very tasty, but nothing beats classic Toll House Cookies. My husband likes nuts and I a less a fan, so I will make half with pecans and half without. The recipe that is on every bag of Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels is always perfect. My latest batch of Toll House Cookies I portioned the dough out with a small scoop and then froze them on a sheet pan with parchment paper. Now I can just pop the cookies in a 375 degree oven for hot cookies whenever I'm in the mood. As the dough is colder, the cookies don't spread as much, which is perfect for dunking in milk. Thank you, Nestle, for keeping these chocolate chips per...
Is there anything better than classic Toll House Cookies?
PlainnPrettyOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/26/2025These morsels are not too sweet and not to bitter, just right for complimenting a variety of desserts and meals calling for semi-sweet chips. I love how they melt, so ooey gooey with an explosion of flavor in each chip. Love love them!!!!! Not much to not love, about the only thing I can say is that the price keeps going up, but it is still not a deterrent to stop me from buying them. They are that good!! I use these in all my chocolate chip recipes, from cookies to peanut butter balls. These are my go-to chips for all things chocolate. Yum!!!!!!!
The all-time GOAT
CdOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/20/2019I have been making the same fudge for thirty years and have always used Toll house chips. They don't melt any more. I kept cooking it to melt the chips and ended up with this hard dry mess and still the chips had not melted. Gave up and used Guittard chips and it came out beautiful!
Fudge Ruined !
MapleOriginally posted onverybestbaking.comverybestbakingpwrThanks for using our chips over the years for your fudge recipe. We're sorry to hear that they didn't melt properly this year... - 1 out of 5 stars review12/18/2015I will agree with everyone else here and am very disappointed. It does not matter if you are trying to melt on the stove or in the microwave either way is the same. Nestle has tarnished their brand for sure. All of their candy bars now taste different as well...it is the chocolate that is different. I have a nephew who loves the Nestle Crunch bars and I brought him one home the other day. He ate 2 bites and about 30 minutes later I asked him why he didn't eat his candy bar? He said it was not very good " it might be rotten" Wake up Nestle!! Your brand is taking a lot of hits from the bakers of the world (which is EVERY household).
Non melting issue
TJ29Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/18/2019I have never had an issue with Nestle Toll House until this year. Went through four bags thinking I was doing something wrong when the chocolate would melt into a thick grainy mess. I now have to go back out for another brand because obviously this has been happening to others. Very disappointing.
Melts into weird, unusable texture

Over the years, I have adjusted the amounts of brown v. white sugar, butter/fat, and a few other ingredients to make the perfect cookie. The one thing that hasn't changed is using Nestle Toll House Chips. Perfect for any cookie or just snacking on when you are baking something that doesn't even have chocolate in it. ;)
Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies Everytime
Dr ChefOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review12/3/2016Have been using these chips for more than 55 years and for some reason they will not melt anymore!! They may be fine in choc. chip cookies, but if you need to melt them to spread over a cookie or cake they just glop up. Ruined a dessert I was making for a dinner party last night, not to mention I purchased three 12 oz. pkgs and now am out the money. I have absolutely no confidence in these chips anymore and will have to find another product. Considering all the other comments I am reading Nestle's is going to have to do a lot of convincing before many of us will use this product again!
Very Dissapointing

I don't sell my cookies but have been requested to make them for team meeting, birthdays and graduation parties. Thanks for making such a great product.
Only Chips to use
KatOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/19/2021I wrote a review about some nestle dark chocolate chips my husband picked up for me and couldn't understand why the morsels were slightly smaller and the taste had diminished. He brought home the allergy free chips from Nestle! I hadn't scrutinized the bag as carefully as I should have. I believe that any review you've gotten recently was for a mid-purchased bags of the allergy free morsels that should be good enough for anyone who struggles with food allergies. I regret sounding off and want to apologize. I swear by the dark chocolate chips and honestly, wouldn't bake without them or be without a bag on my shelf for a quick scoop to satisfy a sweet tooth. To quote Farfal their spokesdog "Nestle makes the very best chocolate."
My mistake....
SewfashionOriginally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/1/2017I have to say there is always Toll House Chocolate Chips in our house. There is an open bag just snacking on and then there are numerous bags because chocolate chip cookies are well loved in this house. I will get up early in the morning and make a batch for the kids to have in their lunches, my co-workers will get some and even the classrooms with get some (I never make a small batch) just because. Toll House Chocolate Chips never last more than a few hours in our home. But I have to say the best thing about making these cookies is sharing the time with my kids making them and sharing the actual cookies with our friends!
Too Much fun!!!!
Teddybear963Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/4/2017I buy nestle toll house chips all the time. I add them to pancakes for a delicious morning treat or to my brownies to give them a little extra zip. My chocolate chip cookies are requested by all children and there friends. Nestle chocolate is always a part ofthe baking.
My go to chocolate
Patty motherof5Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/1/2017Nestles make the best baking chips. I remember my Mother making chocolate cookies in the1950's. How wonderful to come home from school to a glass of milk and Nestles Chocolate Chip cookies. She made these from the recipe on the back of the bag. Now I make these for My Grandchildren. Same recipe on the back of the bag.
Nestles Chocolate Chips are the best
cecile1949Originally posted onverybestbaking.com - 1 out of 5 stars review2/8/2020I haven't made choc chip cookies for a while, yet when i was making the cookies, there was a horrendous smell and i didn't know where it was coming from. Then I reopened the bag of nestle choc chips and it smelled like a pile of coconut. I have an aversion to coconut/palm, whatever happened to non-smelling oil. If I did like coconut, I would prefer to add it to a recipe myself rather than be forced to have coconut choc chips vs. good ole' regular chocolate. There's other semi healthy oils that don't smell/taste so pungent.
Something's different - and the coconut smell
