i just happened to read the reviews on your semi sweet chocolate morsels. ive been baking with them for over 50 yrs. im shocked by these negative reviews so much that i felt compelled to write one of my own. yes the package amount has changed over the years but what hasnt? just adjust. i took the recipe on the package decades ago when in high school & adjusted it to make what has been my signature chocolate chip cookie ever since. through the years i have been told i should sell them, trademark the recipe etc... but i bake for my & the recipient's enjoyment so that was never a consideration. my point is that i see no difference in my cookies, neither do any of the recipients so im confused by all this negativity. as far as the chips melting, well that changed decades ago. they seem the same to me. i will melt some & use them to dip butter cookies in and i have no problem. through the years ive tried ghiradelli & various others if i was tempted by a sale, but i always came back to nestle, ALWAYS and there were times when i baked twice a week to fill requests for my chocolate chip cookies. just had to add my 2 cents.

There are never any surprises when I use Nestle Semi-Sweet Morsels. Everything about them is perfect. Some other brands have disappointed me when I've tried to save a few pennies or the store was out of Nestle chips. Horrors! They're just the best! What else needs to be said?

I have been making the same fudge for thirty years and have always used Toll house chips. They don't melt any more. I kept cooking it to melt the chips and ended up with this hard dry mess and still the chips had not melted. Gave up and used Guittard chips and it came out beautiful!

I really hate to put up such a negative review, but the semi sweet chips are terrible now. They have a strange after taste that didn't use to be there and for the life of me I can not get them to melt properly. I had to completely abandon my Christmas "toffee" and will need to buy a different brand to start over. I also saw that it is processed using genetic engineering and have never before noticed that on the package as a warning (bold face type). Very disappointed. Care about your consumers, so that Grandmas cookies can once again be old fashioned!

Great product***Always have on hand***I use for baking and candy making***My husband and grandkids eat them straight out of the bag; which at times can be annoying---especially when I go to make something and don't realize that they have attacked my baking supplies!

My family calls for cookies often and they always want chocolate chip. These are the perfect morsels for the very particular tastes of my family! They strike the most excellent balance between "hold their shape" and "gooey when they're fresh from the oven," so these are the ones I stock up on every time. Also, my kitchen always has a small canister of morsels off to the side for a little chocolate pick-me-up every now and then!
