My wife was breading chicken as she has done for years with the gallon freezer bags (because they were tough) when the bottom split and dumped everything out. You can see the weak spot in every bag in the box. Rolling a bit of air in a new bag will cause a failure along the weak spot as if the bag was cut. If JJ cares to see this problem I have photos or will send the bags to you. I hope this is a bad batch and not common.

I have to add my two cents worth to the poor reviews. I used to reuse these bags several times to freeze baked goods and waffles. I still have some bags of the old design and they are holding up much better than the new ones. I've notices several new bags have ripped at the sides near the opening, and all the manual seals fail after the second or third time I open and attempt to reseal them. the colored strips break and seals fail. I'll never buy this design again. It's easy to use - but only one time each!

I've used Ziploc products for years and have always been happy with them. But the new tab opening is not good. I've used it on a couple of bag sizes, and in each case the tab tears off usually with the first opening. I hope they will listen to all these complaints and go back to the previous zip lock style. I'm giving fairly high ratings to the below questions . . . because a bag will keep me organized, and protect what's inside with the first use . . . but I'm giving a low rating to Easy to Use . . . because it may be "easier" but I don't like the fact that the tab tears off and then is nearly impossible to re-lock the bag. I would recommend Ziploc products in a minute if they would return to the old style of zip lock.

These have been my go to bag for everything since they came on the market. A free sample in the mail won my loyalty. Great for protecting food, papers, books, fabrics, tools, meds, storage, travel, crafts, organizing, gardening. A must have with my large aquarium. The quality of the freezer bags has become terrible. I have more failures that successes. When loading the bag very often the ends of the zipper come apart and the bag splits down the side. Will not work for anything with weight such as a book or tools anymore. The plastic is no longer thick enough to freezer meat on bones. The bones do not have to be sharp to poke a hole. Anything rubbing against a bag containing something hard, does not have to be sharp will put a hole in the bag. Sadly I can no longer give 5 stars or recommend Ziploc freezer bags.

I do a lot of precooking and freezing meals and these are perfect. I’ll make 15lbs of hamburgers at once, freeze 5 bags worth and when a hamburger is wanted for a quick meal, thawed in the microwave with a damp paper towel covering it, it tastes like it came right off the grill!

We recently went on a family vacation, and as usual, I purchased Ziploc products for food and other uses, buying several boxes of both quart and gallon size bags. Several bags from each box split down the side before I'd even had a chance to put anything into them. The bags were purchased from different retailers, and even in different states, so I don't think it was a batch issue.

I never thought that I would write a review about a baggie. And wow so many others have too. What happened to being able to rely on these Ziplock. Both sandwich and gallon have taken a steep dive. And I see that many others agree. I never thought to look up a review for these because of their reliability in the past. Is this the way it's going to stay?

The last box of 32 Storage Gallon Ziploc Slider bags that we bought - lock to the point that you can't open them. We had to throw about half the box away because we were never able to them open, and the ones we were able to open, we wouldn't close them completely because if you did you couldn't reopen them.

New is not necessarily better. These bags seem thinner even tho they state freezer on them. I'm not sure they will keep foods fresh as long as the "old" version. I had no problem filling the old non "stand and fill" bags buy simply placing them in a large glass or narrow pitcher to fill. I guess time will tell on these, however the quality doesn't seem as good.

It used to be once in a while I'd get a leaky freezer bag. Now it's so often we have to place them on a plate or something similar to catch any fluids leaking out. They have made messes way too often on my counter or in the fridge that I'm looking at other brands.
