I have used Ziploc freezer bags for very long time. I use them for storage of fish and game that I process for my home. They were always a reliable product until now. The NEW Ziploc Gallon Freezer Bags with Easy Open (should be called Easy Tear) strip are junk. We used a few out of the box without incident and then got into the bad ones. The bags tear just below the blue strip every time you try to open one. I thought, "Gee I guess they got into a bad batch." Then I looked at some things that had recent been stored in the freezer. Three bags evidently had a bad seal because ice crystals had already formed on the meat. So I looked online and found the complaints go back almost 6 months for these bags. Ziploc should have pulled their bad products back from the retailers. I am greatly dismayed as to why a trusted brand wouldn't fully test a product before release and even more surprised they didn't pull the bad product. I guess I have to find a new brand.

These are the-worst-bags-ever! Sealing these bags are a nightmare if you got a lot of bags to seal. Even worse, they tend to rip when opening if they've been in the deep freeze. Ziploc makes a "Slider Bag" version that's much easier to close and doesn't rip. I am befuddled as to why Sam's doesn't carry them.

Ever since I opened the package and started using them, each one rips in the same place with little to no effort. I'm really unhappy and will not be purchasing ever again. It's like as soon as you open the bag it rips on the side seam and you're not even able to use the bag! Terrible.

Ziploc freezer bags used to be an awesome product. They sealed very easily and they were tough and never leaked. The bags today are impossible to close and they always leak. I thought they would figure out how to fix this but they haven't. So I will be leaving the brand.

After years of use, Ziplock has finally hit bottom. With each new line of freezer bags, they continually lose their quality. These Easy Open bags are the last straw. Leaks, tears, rips and just plain garbage. Now looking for an alternative. Should be called Zipluck. You need lots of luck to get them to work.

We have always liked ziplock bags until the new design. We like to use the gallon bags to store individually wrapped chicken, so we can pull out what we need and leave the rest frozen. With the new design the top of the bag rips open and we can't keep the bags sealed. We will be looking for a new brand to use as a gallon freezer bag. You can not over fill them because the tops will rip off. Worst design ever made.

I have been using Ziploc freezer bags for years but unfortunately with the new design bags this is about to end. What was the thinking behind the new bags and who tested them? The tabs tear, the seams split and they arethinner than the previous bags. I think Ziploc should go back to the designers for a re-think. I think many consumers will turn to another product . Too bad!!

Great bags for freezer storage. I go through these like crazy and this is the best price I've found. With the state of our economy, it's nice to put bargains in the freezer and these bags do a great job of protecting from freezer burn and transfer of content odors, etc.

The bags are just as stated in the write-up. The problem and reason for a 4 star rating was the delivery. I expected the delivery on the next day as promised, but received delivery 3 to 5 days later. I was forced to change plans for freezing some food items.

This bag has been a staple in my kitchen. I use the bags for shaking and coating, seasoning and flouring meats and vegetables. I like that the bag now stands up making it easier for me to load. These bags are great for storing opened foods in the fridge or freezer.
