There are so many uses for gallon size bags. I buy them in bulk. The Ziplock brand seems to be the best. I use them for marinating, leftovers, storage and separation of may things like crafts and medications. I've used them to transport flour when too much was bought. Now for kids things, the uses are unlimited. Some examples would sending kids wet clothes back home for cleaning, and making a squishy gel mat with hand sanitizer gel and foam shapes. That is one project that needs double bagging.

All I can say is that I pretty much cannot function without this product. I use them for absolutely everything - leftovers, cat food, cat litter refuse, small items of all kinds, bread, sugar, paperwork, and lots of other things. I will only use the "freezer" bags as I find the "storage" bags are just too thin. They are easy to open and easy to close They are a superior and necessary product.

I have to add my two cents worth to the poor reviews. I used to reuse these bags several times to freeze baked goods and waffles. I still have some bags of the old design and they are holding up much better than the new ones. I've notices several new bags have ripped at the sides near the opening, and all the manual seals fail after the second or third time I open and attempt to reseal them. the colored strips break and seals fail. I'll never buy this design again. It's easy to use - but only one time each!

I can always count on ziploc for all their products, I buy different sizes because you never know what you will need to store. These are the best bags for storing things in the freezer. I even put soup in them to freeze, that’s how much I trust them.

We purchased these bags for the marketed "Easy Open Feature" Almost every bag has ripped before we even get to use it...Just opening it out of the box is not "easy!" Then you have so much waste because the only way to open them after that is to pull the bag itself apart. When you have Arthritis that is a painful solution. I will not buy this product again.

Like Tina Tuna, I have had the same experience with the gallon freezer bags ripping. I have used Zip Locks forever and now I too am re-thinking whether I want to continue to use bags that rip. SC Johnson, please go back to the testing lap and make these hold up better. Thank you!

The last box of 32 Storage Gallon Ziploc Slider bags that we bought - lock to the point that you can't open them. We had to throw about half the box away because we were never able to them open, and the ones we were able to open, we wouldn't close them completely because if you did you couldn't reopen them.

I have been buying Ziplock at the big box wholesale stores for years. I like that the per bag cost especially when it's on sale is a lot better than the grocery store. The quality is great. Thicker bag means less risk of freezer burn and the double seal is tough enough to handle a full bag of spaghetti sauce even when it's on its side, until i can get it into the freezer.

For years I have used only Ziploc bags. That all changed when a few years ago Ziploc changed their highly successful design and switched to a new seal and bag top called 'Easy Open Tab". Quite frankly it may be easier to open, but you'll never know as they are IMPOSSIBLE to close and get a good seal on. Basically SC Johnson ruined the product line with a completely untested and unnecessary change. I can't buy their product anymore and am now forced to use competitor products which actually work and make an easy seal. Really a shame that they ruined their entire product portfolio with this terrible change.

I use these for EVERYTHING! Probably more than to freeze food! One thing I like to use it for is to slip my large rounded oatmeall/soup/stew bowl inside to reheat or steam whatever in the microwave! Zip it partially, make sure you have moisture in the food or add a touch of fluid/water and nuke it! But not too long, or you'll have a meltdown. Keeps messes to a minimum.
