We recently went on a family vacation, and as usual, I purchased Ziploc products for food and other uses, buying several boxes of both quart and gallon size bags. Several bags from each box split down the side before I'd even had a chance to put anything into them. The bags were purchased from different retailers, and even in different states, so I don't think it was a batch issue.

I have to add my two cents worth to the poor reviews. I used to reuse these bags several times to freeze baked goods and waffles. I still have some bags of the old design and they are holding up much better than the new ones. I've notices several new bags have ripped at the sides near the opening, and all the manual seals fail after the second or third time I open and attempt to reseal them. the colored strips break and seals fail. I'll never buy this design again. It's easy to use - but only one time each!

I have torn SO MANY of these bags. I've torn them when I get a brand new one out of the box. I've torn ones that have been lightly used. I've torn them even when I think I'm being careful. The Easy Open Tab is terrible. Until you change your design, I'm buying store brands.

I have been using Ziploc bags for years, but someone broke them! The new design of the easy open tab makes the bags break. I have to use scissors to cut them open! I don't see how these passed any kind of testing! I will be buying a different brand for all of my storage needs.

I bought these a month ago after a bulk shopping trip thinking it would be a great way to still freeze a lot of the excess goods since my vacuum sealer stopped working. Unfortunately these bags leaked from each bottom corner on every single bag I used and the bottom of my deep freezer is covered in meat and vegetable juices. I do not recommend.

my favorite bags. I read something recently saying that the storage bags were only slightly thinner than the freezer bags and could be used equally. I ordered both and the freezer bags feel better, and stand up way better in the freezer. the freezer bags are a superior product and worth the extra $

As a single working dad, Ziploc bags were a life saver. I marinated many meals ahead of time and placed them in Ziploc bags to freeze. When I got home from work, I popped them out of the freezer, placed them in water to defrost, and I was ready to prepare meals for my children within 30-45 minutes. Since about a year ago, Ziploc bags began leaking. At first, I thought it was me because I didn't seal them well or they got cut in the freezer. But it's the bags. After reading the reviews, its clear there is a production and quality control problem that the manufacturer must know about by now and are pretending they are just it hearing it from us. Ziploc has lost my business.

I usually buy Slider Ziploc freezer bags, but decided to try the "easy open" tabbed bags (because the Slider-type was not in stock). These "easy open" bags are much harder fully seal closed as compared to the large Slider freezer bags. To seal them, there is much aligning and re-aligning, pressing and re-pressing, and listening for clicking involved - a process that is especially challenging for me because I have somewhat reduced fine finger movement due to arthritis. How tightly and easily a bag closes is much more important to me than how easily I can open the bag (which, by the way, the Slider type are easy to open). The only upside of the "easy open" bags is that they are fully recyclable (a point which I am unsure of in regards to the Slider bags). I highly recommend using the Slider type bags over these.

It used to be once in a while I'd get a leaky freezer bag. Now it's so often we have to place them on a plate or something similar to catch any fluids leaking out. They have made messes way too often on my counter or in the fridge that I'm looking at other brands.

I never thought that I would write a review about a baggie. And wow so many others have too. What happened to being able to rely on these Ziplock. Both sandwich and gallon have taken a steep dive. And I see that many others agree. I never thought to look up a review for these because of their reliability in the past. Is this the way it's going to stay?
