I've stopped buying the quart size since they've been redesigned. I can't tell you how many i've wasted trying to open or reopen. They tear at the top instead of opening. Then I have to unlock it using my fingernails or just trash it if it's new. It happens to my father-in-law too.

Always used Ziploc brand bags I am very disappointed with them besides the new Zipper design which tears when trying to open them and dont seal well they are much lower quality now very thin i just had to throw 3 lbs of hamburger and 2 lbs steak tips away because they got very freezer burned guess ill have to find another brand i cant afford to throw food away

The new Freezer bags, which are no longer blue, leak. I bought them and would use to store food such as tomato sauce that I made in big batches. When I thaw out the food now they leak! This has happened 3 times now so I will NEVER buy again unless they go back to the blue stronger bags.

For years I have used only Ziploc bags. That all changed when a few years ago Ziploc changed their highly successful design and switched to a new seal and bag top called 'Easy Open Tab". Quite frankly it may be easier to open, but you'll never know as they are IMPOSSIBLE to close and get a good seal on. Basically SC Johnson ruined the product line with a completely untested and unnecessary change. I can't buy their product anymore and am now forced to use competitor products which actually work and make an easy seal. Really a shame that they ruined their entire product portfolio with this terrible change.

I used to rely on ziplock bags, quart and gallon sizes especially, for storing many items, hamburger, chicken, pancakes. The quality of the Ziplock brand was definitely far and above what any competitor could muster. Since they have added these "easy open tabs" the quality just isn't there. The sides rip every time I open them, and the easy open tab just isn't. You need to bring your quality back to where it was, because you're just not the only option on the market.

I use these all the time. Not only for freezer, but for packing for trips, and my crochet projects. I pack dry cat and dog food in them so if i run into a stray I can leave it food. Not all strays can be caught. These bags are so sturdy and useful.. I just love them.

I used to always use the Ziploc Freezer bags with the double zipper (quart and gallon) to freeze and store food in the refrigerator and freezer. I recently started using the bags with the easy open tabs but the quality of the bags has really depreciated. It seems like every other bag will leak as soon as I put anything with liquid in them. Doubling the bag only works some times. They are leaking from the bottom of the bag and not the zippered area. I'm afraid to freeze raw meat because when it comes time to defrost it, the blood leaks out all over the refrigerator shelves. The plastic also seems more stiff and not as pliant as they used to be.

I use these for EVERYTHING! Probably more than to freeze food! One thing I like to use it for is to slip my large rounded oatmeall/soup/stew bowl inside to reheat or steam whatever in the microwave! Zip it partially, make sure you have moisture in the food or add a touch of fluid/water and nuke it! But not too long, or you'll have a meltdown. Keeps messes to a minimum.

I have been using Ziploc for many many years, but the current "easy open tabs" are very poorly designed. I have ripped the bags on the seal and on the side on many occasions. It appears that the seal is stronger than the bag. The seal stays shut, but the bag rips. Bad, bad, bad. Can I get a refund or the old bag bck?

These bags used to be much stronger and used to last for more than one or two openings. Cheap stuff now, from now on I will manage without them. I will not purchase these freezer bags again. It's quite unfortunate since I had been using them for years.
