If you follow the instructions and fold down the top of the bag, it will stay open for hands free filling. Be sure to fill the middle and entire bottom of the bag, to create a sturdy base. Then fill the bag slowly, unfolding as you reach the top of it.

I love that they stand up alone to fill. The little pleats at the bottom really work! I always wash and reuse my bags until they have a hole, so these are a great value for as many times as I will use and reuse. I never knew they could be recycled at store drop offs. I will look for that.

They stay cleaner as I don't have to handle them with dirty hands. I absolutely LOVE the double ziplock to ensure that the bag remains closed as well as locks in the freshness of my food. I also love the designated area for writing dates on the bag.

We go through a lot of ziploc bags in this house. For leftovers, lunches, and for freezing vegetables. We are big on canning and freezing here so they help a lot the gallon bags are what we use the most. They are affordable, and you can find them anywhere. But seeing - and using - is believing. These are nice, thick plastic, seal incredibly easily and smoothly (so THAT'S how storage bags are supposed to seal!), and stand on their own for easy filling. I will absolutely be re-purchasing these when I run out and was pleasantly surprised with this sample product.
