Bought this at the local Sam's Club and used it for the first time yesterday. It has a large paper bin but the light comes on saying it is full when it is only half full. Is this normal for thie shredder because it seems to be a waste to have such a large shredder when it doesn't hold that much shredded paper?

With concerns of identity theft rampant, coupled with constant credit card junk mail, everyone should have a shredder. This one is perfect because I don't even have to open the junk mail. I just drop it in the shredder and it's done. I had several bags of things that needed to be shredded that my old shredder would only do 2 pages at a time. I had to be sure the were no staples or labels. I got through the back log in less than an hour, and that includes stopping periodically to give the shredder a rest. I think this is a great shredder for the price point. It does more than expected, is easy to operate and is quiet. When I get my mail I turn the shredder on and shred the credit offers, etc with my name. Now I never have an accumulation of junk!

Used it a few times before reviewing. We shredded a bunch while cleaning out filing boxes. It kept up like a champ and never overheated. It won't take 18 sheets as advertized, but ran longer without annoying overheat pauses than any shredder we've ever had, and that's saying a lot.

I notice when I go to shred. This shredder does t easily shreds. Its takes a second of time to shred longer. I also notice when I go to look at the shredded vertical strips it's not cross cut. Is there a button or something to activate cross cutting? I thought the cross cutting would cut 2 ways vertical and horizontally at the same time. That's what I was expecting. I'm concerned this shredder wont live up to the 18 pages it's supposed to be able to cut

I started slowly by shredding 1 sheet at a time.actually one on top of the other.i was placing 1 sheet into it every 3 to 4 seconds.after watching three episodes of mash (1 1/2 hours)and only stopping to empty the bin,and the dern thing not overheating, my wife says shut the dern thing off.the paper is actually the noise maker,not the machin. She says my favorite show is about to begin in 10 minutes. I started shoving 10 to 15 sheet at one time and this little monster did not even flinch. I finished all my paper shredding that needed shredding. Today I received 2 applications from the credit card company that sends a piece of cardboard in the envelope and I loved it cause for once I did not have to open it up to shred each piece individually.just took the whole dern thing and shredded it without any jam.

Like many, I run a business from home. My workload has become a bit too much for the smaller shredder these days and didn't want to invest in the oversized, commercial grade shredder. If you're looking for that "in between" size that gets the job done without stalling out .... Here it is!!!

The location of the sensor that detects paper seems lower than other machines which makes it more difficult to shred smaller items. This becomes annoying.

I use this at home to shred documents and credit cards. Works great, way better than my old one. The cross cut feature is what I needed.

cuts 12 sheets of print paper good.
