This is my third Dyson as I constantly have to get a new one because they become defective. I purchased the third one less than a month ago and I already see suction issues, not happy about this product! Will be the last time I get it.

The vacuum works extremely well, which is deceiving by how it sounds. It picks up an amazing amount of crud from edge to edge of the power head. Very happy with the power head not getting in a tangled mess, it's always clear of thread and hair. It's pricey but with good reason. The Hoover stick vacuum that was replaced by the V15 did 20% of what the Dyson does.

I have had the Dyson V6 for many years and it still works but decided to upgrade. I really like my new Dyson V15. It has very good suction and the battery lasts well and easy to empty dust bin. The different attachments make it work well on both rugs and smooth floors and the light makes it helpful to see where the dust is. I do wish it came with the under furniture attachment which would be nice to have but so far I am very pleased!

Overall score is a 3. The attachments are less than desirable. The fluffy optic does detect the dirt but I don't find it does a good job actually getting the dirt picked up off my hard floors . The hair screw is a very weird angle. It's what I was most excited about and I'll probably never use it. It's not great. The regular multi surface vacuum head is quite good! It does a good job on my carpet,area rug, smaller mats and hard floors. I wish this machine had a crevice tool to get around the baseboards. Just taking the attachment off doesn't seem to have enough suction or a good angle to get in there. The overall suction is more than great with the multi floor attachment. I have old 80's super high pile plush carpet and it is doing so so SO good. I didn't know my carpets were still capable of being this soft and fluffy. I was going to rip out the carpet but I think I'll wait. The vacuum pulled all the dirt and dog hair that's been accumulating for the last 4 years I've lived here… and probably longer than that too. The bin is hard to empty, I have to use my hand to scoop out the dirt and dog hair which isn't the most ideal. The battery is decent as well. I can get 2 thorough vacuums of my entire upper floor (3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house) or 4-5 quicker vacuums on one battery charge. The vacuum is much quieter than my old vacuum, I don't know what to compare it to but I am happy with the noise. I'm not sure I would vacuum while my baby is sleeping, but maybe I'll try. Overall I am happy with my purchase just for the multi floor attachment and the way it's given my carpet new life. If I could return the useless attachments and get part of my money back then I would up this to 5 stars. Giving a 3 star for value for money spent and the attachments.

Received a Dyson V10 Animal as a gift. After searching reviews, I decided to upgrade to the V15 Detect. Glad I did! Very quiet operation, automatic suction power based on illuminated dust/dirt. Very easy maintenance. The vacuum itself is very maneuverable and lightweight! Purchased extra filters and cleaning brush roller which were fairly inexpensive! Great all around! Pure Dyson Quality!

Downsized from a house to a condo so we thought we would spend the money on a Dyson. Sadly the battery doesn't seem to last more than 2-3 days and it seems the short pile carpet may be too much for the power beater. Not sure it's the right fit for our needs

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this at first. My past experience with cordless vacuums was they did not have powerful suction. And bagless: no just no. But it said for pet hair and carpeting and hardwood floors so I was tempted into purchasing. I don't regret it for a moment. It is everything it says it does. I especially love the soft brush with the light . You can see everything ,all the little dust particles and pet fur on the floor that you are picking up. Easy to empty the canister without getting messy. And the brushes do not get hair tangled up in it. It is not heavy or cumbersome to carry . Swivels very easily. It gets right up close to baseboards. Highly recommend.

My son bought this refurbished vacuum for me and I'm glad he did. It really shows the particulars and dust that you don't see. The light is great! The battery lasts long enough to do my 1700 sq. Ft. home. The suction is good and I love all the attachments.

I have been pleasantly surprised by this stick vacuum. It does a great job cleaning under the auto mode, and we most frequently use it for daily after-dinner kitchen clean ups as well as pet areas. Please note, however, after researching cordless vacuums, I purchased this one because it probably had the best chance of being able to do something I've long wished for of a cordless--a quick vacuum job of our entire home on a single charge. We have an upright vacuum (with a cord) which I typically use for vacuuming the house. Nevertheless, a few days ago I tried to vacuum the entire house with the Dyson V15 and it worked! We don't have a big house (1375 sq ft), but I was able to do a nice job on it--carpet, tile, and laminate--with 9 minutes of battery time to spare. During this attempt, I also used the pet hair attachment on furniture. I was impressed!

Finally bit the bullet and got a Dyson v15 detect. I have looked at them for over a year and debated whether it was worth the money. After using it the first time I put the corded vacuum away and moved my old battery vacuum in the basement. The Dyson does better than the corded vac and is so much easier, not having to deal with the cord, but still do the job providing plenty of suction.
