[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] if i think about our first disc player and the space it took up! wow! this model is a tiny little thing that fits just about anywhere! no need for a large cabinet space to house this in. it could even sit under the tv and wouldn't be that noticeable.

This one allows me to play my dvd, cd, blu-ray, and stream movies from various services. It's has the Energy Star that means it uses less electricity. the picture quality is great. It's like Sony made the most updated Blu-ray Disk Player. It is like a smart tv. I have Netflix and YouTube plus more as advertised. It's the total package. I can also use screen mirroring for connection with my smart phone and/or tablet. I'm very happy with Sony. This is a game changer.

It's very compact and takes up very little space, which is nice. It's also very sleek looking and blends in with the entertainment system. For the price, this thing can't be beat. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony BDP-S1700 is an excellent Blu-ray player. With Full HD 1080p quality picture the pictures are sharp and clear even my older DVDs played clearer then in my 10 year old player that I replaced with this Sony. Differently a superior picture quality. With its tiny footprint under 11” wide and less then 3” high you are able to tuck it away and not have a bulky player in view. This player has the faster start up and load of disks I have ever seen. Player is quite and has no noise as disks play, I tried a warped disk that made a lot of noise in my old player and in the Sony it had no noise at all. Easy set-up took under 5 minutes to set-up. Includes a full feature remote with 2 AAA batteries. Easy to by pass and quick access button get to menus quick. Built in You Tube and Netflix included as well. Only 2 small issues it is wired Ethernet and not wireless also uses a small power brick and not just a power cord so it takes up space in your power strip. In conclusion I would highly recommend this product. The item description was just as described and I would buy it again.

Plays Blu-ray DVD and audio DVDs just fine, this unit does not play 4K movies. It does have all of the streaming apps you would expect if you are connected to the Internet through the ethernet port provided.

I love the compact size as we are using it in our motorhome and space can be an issue. The ability to stream via our internet connection gives us the ability to use our Netflix account on the road. I own several Sony products and have to say I am very pleased with all of them.

It also gives my TV an added boost to it's antenna, so all my shoes come in better. I also like how you can get tube and Netflix to stream through it.

I also love the fact that it can be connected to the internet and you can stream certain apps off of it!! I wish, I would have known this was a thing! I would have had one, years ago!! Being from Sony, makes it even better! I have never had a Sony product, I have ever been disappointed getting!
