I still have many DVDs that I really enjoy watching and I appreciate that it comes with access to Netflix and YouTube, two apps that I frequent. And it allows me not to have to buy another device, like Roku, to access them.

I never thought of getting a blu-ray player but my goodness, the player is so nice. Easy to set up and easy to use. Also I'm very happy with Sony products, quality and built to last a long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving my Sony Blu-ray disc player. Its portable and compact. Very sleek and appealing piece of equipment. The colors are absolutely amazing. It plays my regular dvds and cds as well as blu-ray disc which is exactly what I was looking for. I was surprised to find out I could also put my phone content up on my tv with this baby! It was so easy to hook up and I'm glad it's a Sony because they have stellar customer support. Very satisfied with this player.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony blu-ray disk player took about 10 minutes from box to watching movies , it was well packaged and instructions were simple to read and understand. The picture has very good quality and sound. The remote is very easy to use and understand, it's one of the best blue-ray players I've ever used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned several blu-ray players and have found the BDPS1700 to be above average. A quickstart is something I have always come to appreciate in blu-ray players and this one is fairly quick. Installation was quick and easy and the picture quality is on par the other top blu-ray players on the market. We have a smart tv so are not able to take advantage of some of the streaming options, but this would be fantastic if you didn't own a smart tv. There are some bulky aspects like the remote and power-pack, but I can hide the power pack in my console and I programmed the player to our universal remote, so no issues there!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a DVD player (I know it seems odd with all the steaming we do now a days) but there are a lot of movies and shows that we own for ourselves and for the kids and grandkids. It's nice just simply putting a disc in (call me crazy) anyways this one just that it plays dvd's (Regular and Blu-ray) but....... (drumroll) it is also Bluetooth so we can also stream using it (Netflix, YouTube etc...) and I just love that about it! We really have gotten SO much use out of it! It isn't to big or bulky it is nice and sleek. It performs beautifully!!! The holidays are right aroun the corner and I'm thinking of picking a couple more up for gifts I love it that much!

The fact that I can stream on to apps with my tv that is a halfway smart t v, works wonder. It works better if you have good internet. I have low internet. But it is an awesome . And it doesn't take up a lot of room on your shelf. It is very compact. As always ,Sony has exceeded its expectations.

Set up is a breeze follow the simple instructions included no need for a smart phone or app to set up your Blu-ray Disc player. Here is My hang up I messed up and got a "WIRED internet connection" I wanted wireless. Sony offers both Wired and Wireless be sure to Read the box carefully! If you don't care about your Blu-ray player being connected to the internet then just skip that part during set up. This I s a great Blu-ray player that stands alone great picture quality. Also offers a USB port to share family videos, pictures, and music. This feature is amazing for family gatherings or holidays to just pop in your USB and watch your family memories play. I love to see the Devices get put down and the story telling come alive of " oh my gosh I remember when" this disc player is worth it just for that and the picture quality everything else is just a bonus.

I love that I can watch my regular DVDs and Blu-ray discs from the same piece of equipment. I love all of the apps that are pre-installed with this product as well makes it easy to switch from one to the other. Also with the new triluminos display, it makes viewing more enjoyable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this was just a normal Blu ray player, but it's not. You actually can hook up the internet through a wired connection, and play Netflix on it! There's a button on the remote just for Netflix as well.
